Why Profile Rather Than Folded Steel

Profile sections resist twist in a way thin folded panels cannot, which matters most at the two points a rig gets loaded hardest: the wheel deck under direct drive torque, and the pedal plate under a stiff brake. A frame that moves there shows up as vague steering and an inconsistent brake point.

The other advantage is the T-slot itself. Brackets clamp anywhere along a rail rather than only at pre-drilled holes, so seat position, pedal angle and control placement are set to you rather than to the factory. Everything that bolts on is in Racing Simulator Accessories.

The Trak Racer Range

The range steps up by frame section and footprint. The TR40S and TR80S sit at the compact end and suit a shared room, a belt driven wheel or a mainstream direct drive base. The TR120S V2 adds section and rigidity for stronger bases and firmer pedals.

At the heavy end, the TR160 V5 and the TR200 TANK use larger profile aimed at high-torque bases and hard braking. Match the frame to the wheelbase you expect to finish with rather than the one you own now, because going a size up costs less than replacing a frame you have outgrown.

Trak Racer BWT Alpine F1 Team TRA Hybrid

Trak Racer has been the official simulator supplier to the BWT Alpine Formula One team since 2020, and the Trak Racer BWT Alpine F1 Team TRA Hybrid came out of that partnership. It runs a 160 x 40mm extruded chassis finished in the team Liquid Blue, with pink dust strips and a team sim floor.

The livery is what you notice first, but the hybrid frame is the reason to choose it. Pedal plate, seat brackets and wheel mount all adjust without tools, so it moves between a reclined Formula position and an upright GT one in seconds. Seat and monitor stand are chosen separately.

Building On the Frame

A chassis is bought once and added to for years. The wheelbase mounts to a deck or front plate, pedals to a plate or inverted hanger, and screens to either a cockpit-mounted or freestanding stand. Bases are in Direct Drive Wheelbases, seats in Racing Seats, pedals in Sim Racing Pedals and stands in Monitor Stands.

Mounting hardware is often sold separately, so check which brackets a frame includes before you order. A rig bought without the right wheel mount for your base is the most common gap, and it is a cheap part to add at the same time rather than later.

Profile or Tube Chassis

Profile and tube frames solve the same problem differently. Profile is modular and adjustable, so it changes as your gear changes. Tube chassis are welded to a fixed geometry, which suits a driver who knows the position they want and prefers the look. Those are in Tube Chassis.

Which Trak Racer frame should I get?

What makes the Alpine TRA a hybrid?

It switches between a reclined Formula position and an upright GT one without tools, using quick-release pedal and seat mounts and a wheel mount that flips orientation. One frame, two driving positions.

Can I mount any wheelbase to it?

Most bases mount with the right adapter plate, and the common patterns are covered. Check the bolt pattern for your specific base against the mount listed for the frame, and call us if it is not clear.

Do I need to buy a seat separately?

Some frames ship as a chassis only and some include a seat. The Alpine TRA supplies rails and brackets but not the seat. Each product page states which, so check before ordering.
