Max Flight Stick

Max Flight Stick makes replica helicopter controls for flight simulation, with cyclics, collectives and anti-torque pedals modelled on the real aircraft they are named after. Gamer Gear Direct is an authorised Australian dealer for the brand, so every set is genuine and backed by local warranty support.

Controls Modelled on the Aircraft

Each set is laid out for a specific helicopter. The shape of the cyclic grip, the sweep of the collective arm and the throw of the pedals follow the aircraft the set is named after, so the habits you build at the controls carry over to the type you actually fly.

The range spans Robinson, Bell, Airbus, MD and Boeing airframes, from light piston trainers through to military types. The wider helicopter controls range holds the rest of the rotorcraft hardware.

How They Feel in the Hover

Custom pistons load the cyclic, collective and pedals, so every input is weighted and progressive rather than free swinging. Collectives carry a twist throttle with its own friction damper, which keeps the throttle where you leave it.

Position on every axis is read magnetically by Hall effect sensors instead of a contact track, so there is nothing rubbing inside the sensor to wear or drift. Small corrections stay put, which is most of what holding a hover asks for.

Complete Sets or Single Controls

A full set arrives as a cyclic, a collective and anti-torque pedals sharing one frame, adjustable all round and ready to position in front of your seat.

Cyclics, collectives and pedals are also sold on their own, so you can start with the control that matters most to you and build from there, or run Max Flight Stick pedals alongside a cyclic from another maker. The pedals are a single rudder axis with no toe brakes, which is how the real aircraft works. Fixed-wing setups are covered in rudder pedals.

What It Runs On

Everything connects over a single USB cable and runs on Windows and Mac. Max Flight Stick lists DCS, Microsoft Flight Simulator, X-Plane, Prepar3D, FlightGear and War Thunder, alongside any PC sim that accepts a USB game controller.

None of it works on Xbox or PlayStation. If you are flying on a console, the flight simulator controls range covers what does.

Our take

Max Flight Stick builds controls the way the real aircraft does, with piston loading and magnetic sensing rather than springs and contact tracks, and the difference shows the first time you try to hold a hover. The range runs deep enough across airframes that most helicopter simmers can fly the type they actually care about instead of a generic approximation. Max Flight Stick is specialist kit at a specialist price though, so if you are still deciding which helicopter you want to fly, settle the airframe first and work back to the controls.

Max Flight Stick FAQs

Which helicopters do these controls suit?

Each set replicates a specific airframe, covering Robinson, Bell, Airbus, MD and Boeing types. The axes are assignable, so you can fly anything with them, but the layout and the feel belong to the aircraft the set is named after.

Do I need the complete set?

No. Cyclics, collectives and anti-torque pedals are sold individually as well as in full sets, so you can add one control at a time. Call us if you are not sure which to start with.

Do the anti-torque pedals have toe brakes?

No. They run a single rudder axis with no toe brakes, which matches how a helicopter works. If you need toe brakes for fixed-wing flying, look at the rudder pedals range instead.

Will they work on Xbox or PlayStation?

No. Max Flight Stick controls are built for Windows and Mac, connected over a single USB cable. Nothing in the range is licensed for console.

What warranty do they come with?

A one year limited manufacturer warranty from Max Flight Stick, supported here by the Gamer Gear Direct team. Every unit is genuine and sourced as an authorised Max Flight Stick dealer, and your rights under Australian Consumer Law apply on top.
