Max Flight Stick Huey Max Collective
The Max Flight Stick Huey Max Collective is a standalone UH-1H Huey collective for PC and Mac flight sims, with a choice of single or twin throttle. It is the sixth generation of Max Flight Stick Huey collective.
The switch box carries 4 switches, a push button, a trigger and an 8-way hat switch. Both axes, collective and throttle, read through Hall effect sensors and a 12-bit analogue to digital converter, and in-house pistons give it a hydraulic feel.
This is the metal version, with the grip and collective box printed in industrial-grade aluminium. It connects with a single USB cable.

The Huey switch box in your left hand
The collective head carries 4 switches, a push button, a trigger and an 8-way hat switch, so engine, lighting and trim functions sit where a Huey pilot expects them.
Choose the single throttle for single-engine Hueys, or the twin throttle variant to manage two engines independently.
Hydraulic feel, contact-free sensing
Max Flight Stick's in-house pistons give the collective a weighted, hydraulic movement, while Hall effect sensors read both axes without contact. It has several mounting options for a desk, frame or cockpit.
Pair it with a cyclic and anti-torque pedals to complete the setup. Browse our helicopter controls for the rest of the range.
Our expert take
"If you fly the DCS Huey or other Bell types, a proper collective transforms the experience, and the Huey Max gives you the real switch box and twist throttle with a damped, weighty feel."
"It is the collective only, so you will need a cyclic and pedals. Only choose the twin throttle if you fly twin-engine Hueys. It works on PC and Mac only."

What is the difference between the single and twin throttle versions?
The single throttle version has one twist throttle for single-engine Hueys. The twin throttle version adds a second throttle for twin-engine variants.
Does it include a cyclic or pedals?
No. This is the collective only. Pair it with a cyclic and pedals, or choose the complete Huey Max set. See our flight simulator controls for the rest of your setup.
Is this the metal or resin version?
Gamer Gear Direct sells the metal version only. The grip and collective box are made by industrial-grade powder metal printing in aluminium.
Which simulators does it work with?
Max Flight Stick lists DCS, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and 2020, FSX, X-Plane, Prepar3D, FlightGear and War Thunder, plus any PC flight sim that accepts a USB game controller.

To date, I have been using the metal version of the Huey Collective for seven months, flying a range of different helicopters in X-Plane 11 (including the Huey), and have been extremely happy with it. Now, all in black, it is a very smart addition to my sim rig. It is solid, well-constructed and has a very nice feel to it. All the controls and switches give good feedback and provide an accurate response to the input they receive.
At the time of purchase, I was warned that the piston that provides the friction when moving the collective up and down, would take a while to run in, and it was definitely stiffer than I had anticipated at the start, although not a significant problem. After seven months, it is still providing firm resistance, but it has eased up quite a bit and will no doubt ease up more over time. However, the motion of the collective has been very smooth throughout and feels much like I would expect a real life helicopter collective to feel.
