View full detailsA full motion simulator moves the cockpit itself, so braking, cornering and kerbs arrive through your body instead of only the wheel. Gamer Gear Direct stocks motion platforms and complete motion rigs in Australia, dispatched from our Adelaide warehouse with local warranty support.
Read MoreA motion platform sits under the cockpit and drives it with actuators, reading telemetry from the simulator and converting it into pitch, roll and heave. You feel the car take a set on turn-in, the rear go light over a crest, the suspension load through a kerb.
That is a different thing from force feedback, which speaks to your hands, and from a bass shaker, which speaks to your ears and skin. Motion moves the whole rig. Most serious builds end up running all three.
The Sigma Integrale range steps up by capability: the DK2, the DK2+ and the DK6+ Motion System. The MOZA HMA150 Motion System is the MOZA option and the one our flight rigs are built on. The full Sigma range sits in Sigma Integrale.
Trak Racer approaches it differently, with actuator systems sold as a platform and sim base in three and four actuator configurations, plus TR Move platform bases built to carry D-BOX actuators and a base for adding a third. Those and the rest of the range are in Trak Racer.
If you would rather not work out mounting and compatibility yourself, three rigs arrive as one purchase. The GGD x MOZA HMA150 Motion Simulator Package and the GGD x Sigma Integrale Motion Simulator Package are the racing builds, and the GGD x MOZA HMA150 Motion Flight Simulator Package is the flight equivalent on a Trak Racer TR160 cockpit.
Each is a base package that can be upgraded when you order, so the cockpit, wheelbase and pedals can be changed before it ships. Flight motion is covered on its own in motion flight simulators.
Motion loads a frame in ways static use never does, so rigidity comes before everything. Aluminium profile cockpits are the safe answer and tube or folding frames generally are not. Check the mounting pattern too, because a platform that does not bolt to your rig is a platform you cannot use. Frames are in sim racing cockpits.
Then space and telemetry. A moving rig needs clearance behind and above it that a static one does not, and your titles need to output the data the platform reads. Belt tension is a separate effect again, handled by the Qubic System QS-BT1 seat belt tensioner.
These get confused constantly. Motion moves the cockpit through its full travel. Bass shakers are transducers that vibrate the frame to give engine note, road texture and wheelspin, and they cost a fraction of a platform. They are in bass shakers.
If you are weighing one against the other, our full motion sim guide walks through what each adds and what it costs.
Force feedback works through the wheel and pedals and tells your hands what the tyres are doing. A motion simulator moves the whole cockpit, so the same information reaches your body as pitch, roll and heave. They do different jobs and most high-end rigs run both.
Yes. Aluminium profile or reinforced steel is the practical minimum. Motion puts loads through a frame that static driving never does, and a flexible rig will move in ways that work against the platform rather than with it.
Often, provided the frame is rigid enough and the mounting pattern suits the platform. Send us a photo of your rig and we will tell you whether it will take one.
More than a static one, and the extra clearance is behind and above the rig rather than in front. Measure before you order, and call us if your room is tight, because the answer depends on which platform and how far you run the travel.
They solve different problems. Bass shakers add texture and engine feel cheaply. Motion adds the large-scale movement that tells you what the car is doing underneath you. If the budget only stretches to one, shakers are the better first buy.
Everything here is genuine stock carrying its manufacturer warranty alongside your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Gamer Gear Direct is an authorised Sigma Integrale, MOZA Racing and Trak Racer dealer. Stock is held and dispatched from our Adelaide warehouse, and warranty support is handled locally rather than through an overseas returns process.
Motion is the most expensive and least forgiving upgrade in a sim rig, so talk it through before you order. Call us on (03) 9961 0240 Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, or visit the showroom in Dandenong South.
