A complete setup, or a piece at a time?

Both work, and the choice is mostly about how you like to spend. A complete setup arrives matched, mounts properly and gets you flying in an afternoon. Buying piece by piece spreads the cost and lets you choose each part, at the price of working out what fits what.

This page is the complete end. If you would rather start with one control and grow into a cockpit later, the Xbox flight controls range is where the individual yokes, sticks, throttles and pedals live.

What a complete Xbox setup needs

Four things, and the frame matters more than people expect. A yoke or stick pulled against an unbraced desk moves the desk rather than the aircraft, so a rigid flight simulator cockpit is what makes the rest of the hardware behave.

After the frame come the controls themselves, rudder pedals for the feet, and something to look at. A single large screen on a monitor stand is the usual answer on console, because Xbox does not drive a triple screen array the way a PC does.

The GGD Xbox Flight Simulator Package

The GGD Xbox Flight Simulator Package is our own, and the shortest route to a finished cockpit. It pairs a Trak Racer cockpit frame with a Turtle Beach VelocityOne yoke, a HOTAS and rudder pedals, chosen so the mounting and the console compatibility are already sorted.

It suits someone who knows they want a cockpit rather than a desk clamp, and would rather not spend a fortnight cross-checking bolt patterns. If you want to pick your own controls instead, the yokes and HOTAS ranges cover the parts individually.

Xbox is not PC, and it matters here

Hardware has to be built and approved for Xbox before the console will recognise it, so a PC flight setup does not carry across and the Xbox range is narrower. That is the single most common thing people get wrong when buying a first setup.

It also shapes what a console cockpit should cost. There is less point over-specifying a frame for hardware the console cannot run, so the sensible build is a rigid frame, console-approved controls and one good screen. The full flight simulator controls range covers the PC side if you fly on both.

Do I need a gaming PC for an Xbox flight simulator setup?

No. Everything here connects directly to the console. That is the point of a console setup, and it is why the hardware has to be approved for Xbox rather than borrowed from a PC rig.

Will Microsoft Flight Simulator work with this hardware?

Yes. Microsoft Flight Simulator on Xbox is what most of this gear was designed around, and it is the sim nearly every customer building one of these setups is flying.

Can I start small and add to it later?

Yes, and plenty of people do. Aluminium profile cockpit frames are designed to take more hardware over time, so a yoke today does not stop a throttle quadrant and pedals joining it later.

How many screens can an Xbox run?

One, in practical terms. Triple screen arrays are a PC arrangement, so on console the usual approach is a single large display or a television set at the right height.

Does the setup work on Xbox One as well as Series X and S?

Much of it does, but support varies by product and Xbox One is the more common mismatch. Check the product page or call us before ordering rather than assuming.
