What makes a truck wheel different

A racing wheel is small and quick because a race car asks for small, fast inputs. A truck wheel is large and turns much further lock to lock, because that is what the vehicle it is imitating does. The rim diameter and the rotation range are the two things you notice first.

That geometry is the whole point when you are reversing a trailer onto a dock or holding a line through a roundabout with weight behind you. What is in the range

The MOZA TSW Truck Wheel is the rim on its own, for anyone who already runs a MOZA wheelbase and wants to swap between truck and racing rims. The MOZA Truck Wheel Clamp is the desk mount that goes with it. Three bundles pair the TSW with a base and pedals: the MOZA Trucking Bundle, the MOZA R9 V3 Trucking Bundle and the MOZA R12 V2 Trucking Bundle.

The HORI Truck Control System is the other route, a self-contained wheel, pedal and shifter set for Windows that does not need a separate base. Full specifications for each are on the product pages, and the wider MOZA Racing and HORI ranges hold everything else from both brands.

A wheel is one part of it. Pedals matter more than people expect in trucking, because you spend the drive modulating rather than stamping, and a set with real travel makes long hauls less tiring. The sim racing pedals range covers what fits.

Beyond that it is about somewhere solid to mount it all. A clamp on a desk works, and a frame works better once the wheel gets big enough to move the desk around. What makes a truck sim wheel different from a racing wheel?

Size and rotation. A truck wheel is a bigger rim that turns much further from lock to lock, matching how a real truck steers. A racing wheel is small and quick. Neither one is better; they are imitating different vehicles.

Is a truck sim wheel worth it?

If you spend most of your time in Euro Truck Simulator or American Truck Simulator, it changes the job more than most upgrades do, because steering is what you are doing for the whole drive. If you split your time with racing, think about whether you want to swap rims or run one wheel for both.

Will these work with Euro Truck Simulator and American Truck Simulator?

Both titles are what this gear is made for. Check the platform on the product page before ordering, because the HORI system is a Windows PC device and the MOZA gear depends on which base you pair it with.

Can I use a truck wheel for racing games too?

You can, and it will feel slow and imprecise. A large rim with a wide rotation range is the opposite of what a race car wants. If you play both, a wheelbase that takes a quick-release rim lets you swap rather than compromise.

Do I need a cockpit, or will a desk do?

A desk and a clamp are a fine starting point. The bigger the wheel and the stronger the base, the more the desk will flex and creep under it, and a frame solves that. Try it clamped first if you are unsure.

What do I need besides the wheel?

A base if you are buying the rim on its own, pedals, and something solid to mount to. The bundles exist so you can buy those together. Ring us with what you already own and we will tell you what fits it.
