View full detailsXbox flight controls are purpose built for Series X, Series S and Xbox One, where PC gear will not simply plug in and work. Everything in this collection is made to run on Xbox and supported in Australia, with local warranty cover and advice before you buy.
Read MoreThe console does not accept just any USB device. A yoke, stick or throttle has to be built and approved for Xbox before the console will talk to it, which is why a PC flight setup does not carry across and why the Xbox range is narrower than the PC one.
That narrowness is worth knowing before you spend. The practical question is not which of a hundred options is best, but which of a handful suits the aircraft you fly and the desk you have. If you fly on PC as well, check each product, because some run on both. The wider flight simulator controls range covers the PC side.
The Honeycomb path starts with the Alpha Flight Controls XPC, a yoke designed as the entry point to flying on Xbox. Adding the XPC Hub then gives the Alpha a USB-C connection and two USB-A inputs for further hardware.
That is what lets the Bravo Throttle Quadrant and the Charlie Rudder Pedals run as one system on Series X, Series S and Xbox One. It means a console cockpit can be built a piece at a time rather than bought in one go, which is the main reason to start on this side of the range.
The VelocityOne Flight Control System is the single purchase answer: a yoke with an integrated trim wheel and a modular throttle quadrant in one unit, which suits anyone who would rather not assemble a cockpit piece by piece.
If you fly fast jets or space sims more than airliners, the VelocityOne Flightstick puts the same idea into a centre stick, and the line extends to a Flightstick II, a HOTAS and a dual throttle. Rudder pedals are sold separately across both brands.
A yoke matches how most civilian aircraft are actually flown, so if Microsoft Flight Simulator and general aviation are the point, it is the closer fit. That is why both brands lead with one.
A stick makes more sense for military aircraft, aerobatics and space sims, where the centre position and the twist axis do more of the work. Neither is a compromise; they answer different aircraft. If you are undecided, think about the last ten flights you actually flew rather than the ones you mean to. Separate throttles can be added to either.
Only the ones built for it. A flight stick has to be made and approved for Xbox before the console will recognise it, so a stick sold for PC alone will not work even though the plug fits. Everything in this collection is made to run on Xbox.
Usually not. Some hardware is made for both and says so, but most PC yokes, sticks and throttles are PC only. Check the product before you assume it carries across, and ask us if it is not clear.
The Alpha Flight Controls XPC is the Xbox yoke. With the XPC Hub added, the Bravo Throttle Quadrant and Charlie Rudder Pedals connect as part of the same system on Series X, Series S and Xbox One.
The VelocityOne Flight Control System and the VelocityOne Flightstick are the two mainstays, and the range also includes a Flightstick II, a HOTAS and a dual throttle. Turtle Beach rudder pedals are a separate purchase.
Not to start. Most sims let you steer with the yoke or stick, and plenty of people fly for years without pedals. They matter most for crosswind landings and taxiing, which is why they tend to be the second or third thing added rather than the first.
Much of it does, but not all, and support can differ between the two generations. If you are on Xbox One, check the product page or call us first rather than assuming, because that is the most common mismatch we see. A full Xbox flight simulator setup is worth planning around the console you have.
Gamer Gear Direct is an authorised dealer for Honeycomb Aeronautical and Turtle Beach, so everything here is genuine, covered by its manufacturer warranty and backed by your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Stock ships from our Adelaide warehouse and warranty support is handled locally.
If you are not sure whether a yoke will suit the aircraft you fly, or whether a piece of hardware will run on your console, call us on (03) 9961 0240 Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. You can also try one at our Dandenong South showroom in Melbourne, or look at complete flight simulator cockpits if you are building further.
