Description
Carbon steel, and it needs spacers
An adjustable carbon steel side-mount bracket for Fanatec direct drive wheelbases. The important thing to know before ordering is that it requires 5mm spacer plates, and those are not supplied with it.
Podium DD1 and DD2 take two 5mm spacers. The Gran Turismo DD Pro, CSL DD, ClubSport DD and ClubSport DD+ take four. Purpose made spacers are available, and stacked washers of the same thickness do the same job if you have them to hand.

The spacer requirement, plainly
Fanatec housings differ in how far the mounting face stands proud, and the spacers make up that difference so the bracket clamps square. Fit it without them and the bracket will pull the housing out of true, which is not something you want on a base producing real torque.
Two 5mm spacers for the Podium DD1 and DD2. Four for the Gran Turismo DD Pro, CSL DD, ClubSport DD and ClubSport DD+. If you do not have purpose made spacers, stacking flat washers to the same 5mm is a perfectly sound workaround. Our 5mm spacer kit covers it in one part.
Works on other brands of deck
Unlike the TR One bracket, this one is designed to mount on wheel decks from other manufacturers as well as Trak Racer's own. If your cockpit is not a Trak Racer rig but has a standard deck, this is usually the bracket that fits.
Carbon steel rather than cast aluminium gives it a different character too. It is heavier and very stiff, which suits a permanent installation more than a rig you rebuild often.
Choosing between the two Fanatec brackets
This one for a non Trak Racer deck, or where you want carbon steel and do not mind sourcing spacers. The TR One side-mount bracket for a Trak Racer cockpit with a wheel plate, where the M8 hardware comes in the box and no spacers are needed.
If the cockpit is a bare aluminium chassis, neither is necessary. The TR One V3 kit takes a Fanatec base natively.

Frequently asked questions
Are the spacers included?
No. The bracket requires 5mm spacer plates and they are sold separately. Podium DD1 and DD2 need two, while the Gran Turismo DD Pro, CSL DD, ClubSport DD and ClubSport DD+ need four.
Can I use washers instead of spacers?
Yes. Flat washers stacked to the same 5mm thickness do the same job. The point is to make up the gap so the bracket clamps square against the housing.
Will it fit a cockpit from another brand?
It is designed to mount on wheel decks from Trak Racer and other manufacturers, so a standard deck on another brand of rig is usually fine.
How is this different from the TR One side-mount bracket?
This one is carbon steel, fits other manufacturers' decks and needs spacers. The TR One bracket is die-cast, is intended for a Trak Racer cockpit with a wheel plate, and ships with M8 screws.
