Some wheelbases will not sit flat on a mounting plate because something on the underside gets in the way. A power connector, a moulded foot or a protruding boss holds the base a few millimetres off the plate, and tightening the bolts down onto it is not an option.
This set of four 5mm spacers lifts the base clear so it can be bolted down properly. It is specifically required for the Fanatec CSL DD and GT DD PRO, which both need the extra clearance to mount correctly.
If your wheelbase sits flat and every bolt pulls up square, you do not need these. They exist for the cases where it does not, and forcing a base down onto an obstruction risks cracking a housing or distorting the mounting plate.
Check the underside of the base before you mount it. Anything standing proud of the mounting face needs clearing, and 5mm is enough for the common cases.
