Description
Side mounting a Fanatec base
An adjustable side-mount bracket for Fanatec direct drive wheelbases. Rather than sitting the base flat on a deck, it clamps to the sides of the housing, which frees the space underneath and lets you set the wheel height independently of the deck surface.
It fits the CSL DD QR2, the Gran Turismo DD Pro QR2, the ClubSport DD and ClubSport DD+, the Podium Wheel Base DD1 and DD2, the Podium DD and the Gran Turismo DD Extreme. It mounts to a cockpit that already has a wheel plate fitted.

Screws, and which ones you need
The Podium Wheel Base DD1 and DD2 use M8 fixings and those are supplied with the bracket. The Gran Turismo DD Pro and the CSL DD use M6, and Fanatec supplies those with the wheelbase rather than Trak Racer supplying them here.
It is worth checking you still have the Fanatec hardware before you start, because a missing M6 screw will stop the job at the last step. Our range of hardware mounts covers the general fixings if you need spares of anything else.
Side mounting versus a deck
A deck puts the base on top of a surface. A side mount clamps the housing between two arms, so the base can sit lower and the volume beneath it stays usable. On a cockpit where the wheel deck is close to your knees, that is a real gain.
It also makes wheel height adjustable without moving the deck itself, which is useful in a rig shared between drivers of different heights.
Which Fanatec mount to choose
Trak Racer makes more than one Fanatec option and they suit different rigs. This bracket suits a cockpit with a wheel plate already fitted. If you are building from a bare aluminium chassis, the TR One V3 kit mounts a Fanatec base natively with no bracket at all.
There is also a carbon steel side mount that works on wheel decks from other manufacturers as well as Trak Racer's own. That one needs spacer plates for most models, so read the Fanatec wheel mount listing before choosing between them.

Are the screws included?
M8 screws are supplied for the Podium DD1 and DD2. The Gran Turismo DD Pro and CSL DD take M6 screws, which Fanatec supplies with the wheelbase.
Do I need a wheel plate?
Yes. The bracket mounts to a cockpit that already has a wheel plate fitted. It does not replace one.
How is this different from the TR One V3 kit?
The V3 kit is a complete mounting structure that takes a Fanatec base natively. This bracket is a side mount for a rig that already has a wheel plate.
