Description

Die-cast reinforcement for 120x40 joints

Where a 120x40mm beam meets an upright, the joint carries more load than anywhere else on the frame. This is the die-cast aluminium bracket that reinforces that corner, supplied as a pair.

At 120mm high and 40mm wide it is dimensioned to match the deep profile section rather than the 40mm rails, so it spans the full height of the beam and spreads the load across the joint instead of concentrating it at a single fixing point. It suits the TR120S and any other rig built on 120 x 40mm extrusion profile.

Trak Racer TR120S die-cast aluminium corner bracket

Key features

  • Sold as a pair
  • Die-cast aluminium construction
  • 120mm height by 40mm width
  • Suits the TR120S and any 120 x 40mm profile rig

Die-cast rather than folded

A die-cast bracket is a single piece of metal formed to shape, which gives it more resistance to opening up under load than a folded or welded equivalent. On a corner carrying a wheel deck and a direct drive wheelbase, that resistance is what stops the joint flexing when the force feedback spikes.

These are supplied as bare brackets without fasteners, so you will need M8 screws and T-nuts to fit them. The hex bolt and ball-bearing T-nut set covers both in one part, and the rest of our racing simulator accessories range carries the individual sizes if you need something specific. It is intended for the deeper sections used on the aluminium chassis rigs rather than the 40mm rails.

Our expert take

"Reinforcing brackets are what you add when the rig has grown beyond what it was originally built for. If you have put a high torque wheelbase on a frame and you can feel the corner working under load, this is the part that stops it."

- Blake Sterling, Founder & CEO, Gamer Gear Direct
