Description

Move the seat without getting out

A powered seat slider with 150mm of travel, operated by a wired switch. Press it and the seat moves. That sounds like a luxury until you have a rig shared between three drivers, or a seat that has to come forward before anyone can get past it.

It is rated to a 500kg maximum load, weighs 4kg itself, and is built from steel and aluminium. Mounting hardware and a quick start guide are supplied.

Trak Racer motorised seat slider

Key features

  • 150mm range of motion
  • Wired switch control
  • 500kg maximum load capacity
  • Steel and aluminium construction
  • Weighs 4kg
  • Electronic safeguards for rig protection
  • Mounting hardware included
  • Requires seat brackets, sold separately

Who this is actually for

Three cases. A rig used by several drivers, where the seat moves every session and a manual lever becomes a chore. A rig in a tight space, where the seat has to travel to let someone past. And drivers with limited mobility, for whom reaching a lever under a seat is genuinely difficult.

If you are one person with a fixed position, a manual slider does the same job for a fraction of the cost. The dual lock slider is the sensible alternative in that case.

Load rating and what sits on it

Five hundred kilograms is far beyond what a driver and a seat weigh, and that headroom is the point. A slider carrying a load close to its limit binds and wears. One carrying a fraction of it moves smoothly for years.

It is worth remembering the slider carries the seat, the driver, and whatever bracing load you put through the seat when you brace against a high torque wheel. Our direct drive wheelbases range and the seat you choose are part of the same structural conversation.

Brackets are still required

The slider goes between the chassis and the seat brackets, not between the chassis and the seat. You still need the correct brackets for your seat type, and those are sold separately.

For a side mounted bucket, that means bucket seat brackets. For a bottom mounted reclining seat, the recline seat brackets. Get the bracket right first, then add the slider underneath it.

Our expert take

"This is a want rather than a need for a single driver, and close to essential for a rig that three people share. The thing to plan for is that it sits under your seat brackets rather than replacing them, so budget for both parts rather than one."
