Description
A fixed pivot for your heel
An adjustable heel plate cut for the TR40S cockpit. It gives your heel a solid, repeatable surface to pivot on instead of whatever happens to be under the pedals, which is usually carpet.
That single reference point is worth more to consistent braking than most people expect. Every pressure input you make is measured against where your heel sits, and a heel that sinks slightly on soft flooring makes the same push feel different every lap. The plate measures 494mm long and 60mm wide, tapering to 55mm at the far end.

Why heel position drives brake consistency
A load cell brake measures pressure rather than travel, and pressure comes from your leg pushing against a fixed pivot. Move the pivot and the same leg effort produces a different reading.
On carpet the pivot moves constantly, because your heel compresses the pile a little differently every time you sit down. A plate takes that variable out entirely, which is why it is one of the cheapest genuine consistency upgrades available.
TR40S specific
This plate is cut for the TR40S at 494mm long. The TR80S plate is 574mm, a full 80mm longer, because it spans a wider footwell. That difference is the whole reason the two are separate parts, and it is why one will not substitute for the other.
If yours is the larger frame, the TR80S heel plate is the matching part. For the TR200, TR160 and TR120, the heel rest that comes with the profile pedal mount system covers the same job.
Setting it up
Adjust it with your seat in its final position and your foot where it naturally falls, not where it lands when you are leaning in with a spanner. Heel height changes ankle angle, and ankle angle is what determines how finely you can modulate the brake.
