The right side handbrake mount for the TR8 Pro and RS6. Same slider adjustment and matte black finish as its left hand counterpart, mirrored so it bolts to the opposite side of the cockpit.
This is the side most drivers choose when the shifter lives on the left, or when a left hand drive layout is being recreated. If your handbrake belongs on the other side, order the left side mount instead.
Sim racers tend to mirror whatever they drive on the road, which in Australia means a right hand shifter and a left hand brake. Plenty of people go the other way deliberately, either to match a left hand drive car they race in the game or because their handbrake hand is stronger.
There is no wrong answer, but there is a wrong order. Work out which hand will be pulling before you buy, because these are handed parts and the two are not interchangeable.
The slider lets you move the handbrake fore and aft after the bracket is bolted down. Set the seat and the wheel first, then position the handbrake where your hand lands with your arm relaxed and your shoulder still against the seat.
A handbrake takes a genuine pull, so treat the fixings as structural. Tighten them properly and re-check after a few sessions, particularly on a rig that also carries a high torque wheelbase. Like its left hand counterpart it bolts to the cockpit rather than to a 240mm side support, so it does not need a peripheral arm to work. The rest of the cockpit hardware sits in our racing simulator accessories range.
"If you are buying both sides, buy them together. The left and right are separate SKUs and it is very easy to order two of the same one by accident, which we see more often than you would think."
- Blake Sterling, Founder & CEO, Gamer Gear Direct
