Trak Racer 240mm Aluminium Profile Shifter & Handbrake Mount
Running a shifter on the desk beside the rig undoes most of what the rig is for. This kit puts it where a real car does: bolted rigid to the side of the cockpit, at the height and reach you set, moving with the chassis instead of sliding across a table.
It is a 240mm length of 80x40mm anodised black aluminium profile supplied with the brackets, fixing screws, nuts and an end cap to fit it. It carries Trak Racer shifter and handbrake mounts and bolts to the side rail of a chassis you already own, so it extends the rig rather than replacing part of it.
Fitment covers the TR200, TRA, TR160, TR120, TR80S, TR40S and TRK, plus most other cockpits in the aluminium chassis category built on standard 8mm slot extrusion.

Why a shifter wants to be on the rig, not the desk
A sequential shifter takes a real shove. On a desk it walks away from you between shifts, the throw stops being repeatable, and you start missing changes that you did not actually miss. Bolted to the chassis it takes the same load the rest of the rig does and stays exactly where you left it.
Handbrakes are the harder case, because a hydraulic or load cell unit needs something solid to pull against. Mounted to the frame, that force goes into the chassis rather than into whatever the unit happens to be resting on. Have a look at the sim racing shifters we stock to see what pairs with it.
What it bolts to, and what you still need
The profile carries the mount, not the peripheral itself. You add the Trak Racer shifter or handbrake mount made for your particular unit, then the unit on top of that. It is why the same 240mm arm works whether you end up running a sequential, an H-pattern or a handbrake off it.
If you run a cockpit outside the listed fitment, send us the model and we will confirm it before you order rather than leaving you to measure the slot yourself. The same arm suits the sim racing handbrakes we carry.
Frequently asked questions
Does this include the shifter mount itself?
No. This is the 240mm profile arm with its brackets and fixing hardware. The Trak Racer shifter or handbrake mount for your specific unit is a separate part, and the shifter or handbrake itself is separate again.
Which cockpits does it fit?
TR200, TRA, TR160, TR120, TR80S, TR40S and TRK, plus most other rigs built on standard 8mm slot extrusion. Anything in the aluminium chassis range using that profile standard will take it.
Can I mount a handbrake instead of a shifter?
Yes. The same arm accepts Trak Racer handbrake mounts, so it carries a hydraulic or load cell handbrake as readily as a sequential shifter. Which one it ends up holding is decided by the mount you fit, not by this part.
Is 240mm long enough?
For a shifter or handbrake sitting beside the wheel, yes. 240mm brings the peripheral into reach without pushing it out past the width of the chassis, which is what keeps the rig usable in a normal room.
