One shell, two seating positions
A hybrid shell in genuine motorsport grade dry carbon fibre. Hybrid means it works in two seating positions rather than one: an aggressive formula recline with your legs raised, or a more upright GT position, depending on how you mount it.
That flexibility is the point of the design. Most drivers run both disciplines at some stage, and buying two seats to do it is an expensive way to solve the problem. It fits the tube frame cockpits including the RS6, TR8 Pro, TRX, Porsche 91XTR and Carbon Fibre TRX, and the aluminium profile range covering the TR200, TRA, TR160, TR120, TR80S, TR40S and TRK.

What hybrid actually means here
A formula seat lays you almost flat with your feet above your hips. A GT seat sits you reclined but conventional. A hybrid shell has enough shape in the base and enough length in the back to work in either, so the bracket angle decides which one you get rather than the shell.
In practice most owners set it once and leave it. The value is in choosing without committing at the point of purchase, and in being able to change your mind a year later when your racing has moved on.
Dry carbon, and the removable pads
The shell is genuine dry carbon rather than a carbon finish over fibreglass. It is the same material distinction that separates the two ends of our racing seats range, and the price reflects it.
The padding is injection moulded and attaches with velcro, so it lifts out. That matters more than it sounds in a seat you will sit in for hours: pads that come out can be cleaned properly, and a shell that can be run bare is easier to reposition while you are setting the rig up.
The fibreglass alternative
If the hybrid geometry appeals but the carbon does not, the HSX hybrid in fibreglass covers the same two position idea in a high strength fibreglass shell, in the BWT Alpine Formula One Team livery.
The two are separate model lines rather than finishes of one shell, so the fit ranges differ slightly. Check the waist figures on both before deciding, particularly if you are near the top of either range. Whichever you choose, the bucket seat brackets are what set the shell to one position or the other, so budget for those at the same time.
