Trak Racer TR-One Gen 2 Universal Shifter Mount
Buying a shifter mount usually means buying the wrong one twice. You fit a shifter, then a handbrake arrives and the bracket has nowhere to put it, so the whole thing comes off and a different one goes on. TR-One is Trak Racer's answer to that: a modular system where you add the part you need instead of replacing what you own.
This is the entry point. A pre-drilled two-way mount for 40mm wide, 8mm slotted aluminium extrusion, sliding on two slots with a distance slider for fine tuning, and drilled for the shifters people actually own.
From here it expands. A handbrake mount, a flight stick mount or the oversized shifter plate all bolt into the same system, which is what separates it from the rest of the hardware mounts.
Key features
- Fits 40mm wide, 8mm slotted aluminium extrusion
- Two-slot sliding adjustment for fore and aft position
- Distance slider for fine ergonomic tuning
- Pre-drilled for major shifter brands
- Part of the TR-One modular mounting system
- Expands with a handbrake, flight stick or oversized plate
- Listed against 28 shifter brands
- Clamps into the extrusion slot with no chassis drilling
Add the part, do not replace the mount
The modular argument only matters if you believe your setup will change, and it almost always does. A shifter today, a handbrake next year, a flight stick after that. On a conventional bracket each of those is a new purchase and an old bracket in a drawer.
TR-One is built the other way round. The handbrake mount, the flight sim mount and the large shifter and handbrake plate all attach to this system rather than superseding it, so the money you spend now stays in the setup.
That is worth more than it sounds on a part this size. The cost of a mount is never the mount, it is the afternoon spent pulling the rig apart to change it.
Set where your hand naturally falls
Two slots carry the mount on the profile and let it slide forward and back, and a separate distance slider fine tunes how far the shifter sits from the wheel. Between them you can put the shift lever exactly where your hand already goes rather than where the bracket allows.
That matters most on sequential shifters, where the throw is short and the movement is quick. A lever an inch too far forward turns a flick into a reach, and you feel it by the end of a stint rather than at the start.
Because it clamps into the slot rather than bolting through, nothing is drilled and the position is not permanent. Loosen, slide, retighten.
What it fits
Trak Racer list it against their extrusion frames including the TR120, TR80S, TR40S and TRK, and it works on other branded extrusion rigs built from the same 40mm profile with 8mm slots.
The shifter list is the long one. Trak Racer name 28 brands including Trak Racer, Fanatec, Aiologs, Asetek, AWIN Racing, BDH Race Sim Hardware, BJ Sim Racing, DSD, Frex, Heusinkveld, Jinx, Logitech, Meca, MME Motorsport, MOZA, Pro-Sim, Quaife, SG Racing, Simagic, SimDT, Sim-Lab, SimJack, Simsonn, Simworx, Thrustmaster, Turtle Beach, Venym and VNM. If yours is not on that list, ask us before ordering and we will check it.
A handful of shifters, including the Jinx, the Simworx Pro Series and the Quaife range, need the oversized plate rather than this mount. Browse the racing simulator accessories for that version and the rest of the TR-One parts.
Our expert take
"TR-One is the first mounting system in this category that treats a cockpit as something that changes. Most brackets assume your gear is final, which it never is, and that assumption is what makes them expensive over three years rather than cheap on day one."
"Check the shifter list before you order rather than after. The standard mount covers most of the market, but the big hydraulic and servo units want the oversized plate, and the two are not interchangeable."

Frequently asked questions
Which rigs does it fit?
Trak Racer list it against their extrusion frames including the TR120, TR80S, TR40S and TRK, and it fits other branded rigs built from 40mm wide profile with 8mm slots. The frames themselves are in the aluminium chassis rigs.
Will my shifter bolt straight on?
It is pre-drilled for 28 named brands. The Jinx, Simworx Pro Series and Quaife shifters need the oversized plate instead, so check yours against the list or ask us.
Can I add a handbrake later?
Yes, and that is the point of TR-One. The handbrake mount, flight stick mount and oversized plate all attach to the same system rather than replacing this mount.
Does it need drilling?
No. It sits on the profile using two slots and clamps in place, so nothing is drilled into the chassis and the position stays adjustable.
