Description

Trak Racer 580mm Side Chassis Peripheral Support (No Shifter Mount)

Every accessory you add to a rig needs something solid to bolt to, and on most cockpits the side of the chassis runs out of usable rail long before you run out of things to mount. This support adds 580mm of it.

It is a length of premium anodised 80x40mm aluminium profile supplied with the brackets and mounting hardware to fix it to the side of an existing chassis. From there it will carry control mounts, flight sim accessories, button boxes or anything else that bolts to an 8mm slot, positioned anywhere along its length.

This is the version without a shifter mount, so it is the one to choose when you are adding a rail for something else. It fits the TR200, TRA, TR160, TR120, TR80S, TR40S and TRK, and other cockpits in the aluminium chassis category built on T-slot extrusion.

Key features

  • 580mm of premium anodised 80x40mm aluminium profile
  • Brackets and mounting hardware included
  • Mounts anything that bolts to an 8mm T-slot
  • Position adjusts anywhere along the rail
  • Supplied without a shifter mount
  • Fits TR200, TRA, TR160, TR120, TR80S, TR40S and TRK
  • Also suits other T-slot and DIY extrusion builds
  • Adds rigidity as well as mounting area

What a longer side rail actually buys you

A cockpit ships with enough rail for the hardware it was designed around. The moment you add a button box, a keyboard tray, a flight control mount or a second peripheral, the useful positions are already taken and everything ends up compromised into whatever gap is left.

Extending the side gives you the length back, and because it is the same 80x40mm section as the chassis itself, it is not a weak point bolted onto a strong frame. Anything mounted on it sits as solidly as it would on the original rail.

Fitting it, and choosing between the two lengths

The brackets and hardware in the box do the whole job, so nothing needs drilling or cutting. The support bolts to the existing side rail using the slot, which also means it can be repositioned or removed later without leaving a mark on the chassis.

Trak Racer makes this support in a 200mm and a 580mm length. Take the 580mm where you are mounting more than one thing or need reach toward the front of the rig, and the shorter one where you only need a single anchor point. More rig hardware is in the hardware mounts range.

Frequently asked questions

Does this include a shifter mount?

No. This is the version supplied without one, which is why it is the cheaper and more flexible choice when you are adding a rail for a button box, a flight control or a tray rather than a shifter.

Which cockpits does it fit?

TR200, TRA, TR160, TR120, TR80S, TR40S and TRK, plus other branded extrusion rigs and DIY T-slot builds using the same 8mm slot standard.

Do I need to drill anything?

No. The brackets and fixings supplied bolt into the existing T-slot on your chassis, so nothing is cut or drilled and the support can be moved or taken off later.

What can I mount on it?

Anything that fixes to an 8mm T-slot: control mounts, button boxes, flight sim accessories, keyboard and mouse trays. It is a rail rather than a purpose-built bracket, so the mount for your specific peripheral is separate. Browse the racing simulator accessories range for ideas.
