Description

Trak Racer 330mm Flat-Bottom GT Sim Racing Wheel

The 330mm flat-bottom GT rim is for drivers who want a proper GT wheel shape without changing wheelbase ecosystems to get it. This is a rim, not a complete wheel, so it bolts onto the button hub and quick release you already run and leaves the rest of your setup alone. It sits in the wider Trak Racer range of sim racing hardware.

At 330mm the diameter lands where GT racing actually wants it. Large enough that small steering corrections stay small at the hands, tight enough that a fast direction change does not need a shuffle. The core and spokes are aircraft-grade aluminium alloy, which keeps the rim stiff under load while holding the weight down so the wheelbase is moving the rim rather than fighting it.

The closed flat-bottom profile keeps an unbroken grip surface at the 9 and 3 positions and flattens the base of the rim, which frees knee room in a tight cockpit and clears the view to a dash display.

Key features

  • 330mm (13 inch) diameter, the standard GT rim size
  • Closed flat-bottom profile with continuous grip at 9 and 3
  • Aircraft-grade aluminium alloy core and spokes
  • Moulded silicone grips with an anti-slip texture
  • Non-porous grip surface that resists sweat, dirt and bacteria
  • Comfortable to drive bare-handed or gloved
  • Standard 70mm PCD bolt pattern
  • Lightweight rim design for lower inertia and clearer feedback

A silicone grip built to be driven bare-handed

Most rims in this class are wrapped in suede or leather, which look excellent and start absorbing sweat the moment you stop wearing gloves. Trak Racer has gone the other way with moulded silicone.

Silicone is non-porous, so it does not take on sweat, skin oil or bacteria, and it wipes clean rather than gradually darkening at the 9 and 3. On a rig that gets shared between more than one driver that is a practical advantage rather than a cosmetic one. The anti-slip texture holds grip whether your hands are dry or not, and it stays comfortable if you would still rather wear sim racing gloves.

Fits the button hub and quick release you already own

The rim uses a standard 70mm PCD bolt pattern, which is the pattern most of the industry settled on, so the list of hubs it will take is long rather than exclusive.

Confirmed fitments include Fanatec Podium Button Module and ClubSport Universal Hub V2, MOZA CS Pro, CS V2P and RS V2, Simucube Valo and Tahko, Simagic GT Pro Hub and NEO X, Ascher Racing B16 and B24, Cube Controls GTPRO V1 and V2, Conspit H.AO, plus Pokornyi, SimCore, Sim Racing Bay, SimRacing Coach, Simsonn and HRS. If your hub is not one of those, the 70mm pattern still means it is worth checking rather than assuming. Have a look at the quick releases and button hubs we stock, and ask us if you want a specific combination confirmed before ordering.

Our expert take

"This is a rim that solves a specific problem cheaply. If you have a wheelbase and a button hub you are happy with, but the rim that came with it is the wrong shape or has gone shiny at the 9 and 3, you can fix that without touching anything else."

"The silicone grip is the part worth understanding before you buy. It is more hygienic and far more durable than suede, and it is genuinely fine to drive without gloves, but it does not have the plush, slightly soft feel that a suede GT rim gives you. If that tactile quality is what you are chasing, this is not the rim for you. If you want something that grips consistently, wipes clean and lasts, it very much is."

Frequently asked questions

Is this a complete steering wheel?

No. This is a rim only. A button hub and a quick release are needed to mount it to a wheelbase, and both are sold separately. If you are building from scratch rather than replacing a rim, start with the direct drive wheelbases and work back to the rim.

Which button hubs will it fit?

It uses a standard 70mm PCD bolt pattern, which covers most hubs on the market including Fanatec, MOZA, Simucube, Simagic, Ascher Racing, Cube Controls and Conspit. The Conspit H.AO and the Cube Controls GTPRO need a button spacer, and that spacer is supplied in the box.

Do I need gloves with a silicone grip?

No. The silicone is non-porous and designed to be driven bare-handed, which is the main reason to choose it over suede. Gloves still work perfectly well with it if you prefer them.

What is the difference between the closed and open flat-bottom versions?

The closed version has an unbroken rim across the base. The open version cuts that base section away, which drops a little weight and opens the view to the pedals and dash. Grip, diameter and fitment are otherwise the same across both sim racing wheels.
