Description

One high output transducer for the seat or chassis

A bass shaker is not a speaker. It does not move air, it moves mass, and it bolts to something rigid so that the thing you are sitting in shakes rather than the room. This is the big one in the Trak Racer range.

The TR-BSA100 runs 50W nominal with 100W peak handling across a 20Hz to 120Hz effective range, on a 4 ohm load. It is a single unit designed for a seat, a cockpit frame, a motion platform or a gaming chair, and it needs an amplifier to drive it.

Trak Racer 100W Pro haptic bass shaker

Key features

  • 50W nominal, 100W peak handling
  • 20Hz to 120Hz effective range
  • 4 ohm rated AC impedance
  • 40Hz resonant frequency
  • 155mm diameter, 51mm tall
  • 2m of 16 gauge speaker wire included

You will need an amplifier

The shaker is a transducer, so it takes a speaker level signal in the same way a subwoofer driver does. On its own it does nothing. Trak Racer's own recommendation is to pair it with one of their bass shaker amplifier kits, tuned for low frequency output rather than for full range audio.

The V2 Pro 200W amplifier and shaker kit is the natural pairing. It is a two channel 200W amp supplied with one of these shakers, which leaves a free channel for a second unit. If you already own that kit, this is the shaker that fills the second channel.

Where it mounts

Rigid structures only. Simulator seats, sim racing cockpits, motion platforms, and gaming chairs and simulator frames all work, because they transmit rather than absorb. Anything with give in it will swallow the effect.

A mount is not part of this kit, so you will need something to bolt it to the seat bracket or the side of the rig. Our hardware mounts range covers the plates and brackets that do that job.

The 100W against the 10W pair

These two products do different things. This one is a single high output unit for the seat and the chassis, where you want engine rumble, kerb strikes and impacts through your whole body. It is the blunt instrument, in the best sense.

The 10W pair is the detail tool, sized to bolt onto pedals, a shifter or a handbrake so the feedback arrives at your hands and feet. A lot of drivers end up running both. Our haptic systems range covers the amplifiers that drive either.

Our expert take

"Buy the amplifier and the shaker together the first time. We see people order a bare transducer, wire it into a spare speaker output on their sound system and conclude that haptics are overrated, when what they actually have is a 4 ohm load being fed by something that rolls off before it gets anywhere near 40Hz."

Frequently asked questions

Is an amplifier included?

No. The kit is the shaker and 2m of 16 gauge speaker wire. A dedicated low frequency amplifier is needed to drive it, and Trak Racer's own kits are tuned for the job.

Is a mount included?

No. The shaker bolts to a rigid structure such as a seat bracket or a cockpit rail, and mounts are listed separately.

What is the difference between 50W and 100W?

50W is the nominal input power the unit is rated to run at continuously. 100W is the maximum it will handle on peaks.

What can I bolt it to?

Rigid structures. Simulator seats, sim racing cockpits, motion platforms, and gaming chairs and simulator frames.
