Description
One USB port for the whole rig
Simucube Link is the network that post-2022 Simucube hardware talks on, and the Link Hub is the bridge between that network and your PC. It has one USB-C port facing the computer and one RJ45 port facing your gear.
The practical effect is that a rig full of Simucube devices occupies a single USB port rather than one per device, and everything appears automatically in Tuner without configuration.

Which products need it
A Simucube 3 wheelbase requires one in order to operate, and so does an ActivePedal Pro. In both cases the hub is not in the product's box. A Simucube 2 wheelbase does not need one, because it connects to the PC by USB directly.
So if you are moving from a Simucube 2 to a Simucube 3 Pro, this is the part that is easy to overlook and that the base will not run without.
One hub, and when you need a switch
You only ever need one Link Hub, however many Simucube devices you own. That is the design intent, and it is why the hub is sold separately rather than bundled with everything.
The hub itself has a single device port though. Connecting more than one Link device, a wheelbase and an ActivePedal for instance, needs a standard Ethernet switch between them. Simucube sell one, or any standard switch does the job.
What it does for feel
The Link network polls device status tens of thousands of times per second, which is what catches a slide the moment it starts rather than a fraction of a second later. It also isolates the gear from power surges on the USB bus.
An ActivePedal Pro runs on the same network, so a single hub covers the wheelbase and the pedal together.
It is configuration free, so there is nothing to set up: plug the devices in and they appear in Tuner. Our Simucube range pages cover the products that run on it.

Do I need one?
Yes if you are running a Simucube 3 wheelbase or an ActivePedal Pro, since both require one to operate and neither includes it. No if you are on a Simucube 2 wheelbase, which connects by USB directly.
Do I need more than one?
No. One hub covers every Simucube Link device on the rig.
How do I connect two devices?
Through a standard Ethernet switch. The hub has one device port, so a second Link device needs a switch between them.
Is there anything to configure?
No. The hub is configuration free and connected devices appear automatically in Simucube Tuner.
