Description
35Nm, and a different motor to get there
The Ultimate is the only wheelbase in the Simucube 3 range that changes the torque figure. 35Nm rather than 25, and Simucube are clear that reaching it required a completely new type of motor rather than a bigger version of the old one.
It uses a spoke-type IPM motor, an interior permanent magnet design. Dense magnetic flux, low inertia and reworked thermal paths, which is how Simucube get more torque with faster response while running cooler and drawing less power than you would expect.

IPM, and why the motor type matters here
Most direct drive wheelbases, including the Simucube 3 Pro, use a surface permanent magnet motor. The Ultimate uses an interior permanent magnet motor instead, with the magnets buried inside the rotor rather than mounted on its face.
The practical result is a denser magnetic flux and lower rotor inertia, which means the motor can change direction faster while producing more torque per amp. It is the reason this base runs cooler than its output suggests. Worth knowing if you have seen the spec compared elsewhere, because it is genuinely a different motor and not a marketing tier.
What it shares with the Pro
The 23-bit absolute sensor with eight million steps, the rewritten control algorithm, the per-unit laser scanning, the telemetry-based effects and Simucube Tuner 3.0 are common across the 3 series. So is the included control box, which carries the emergency torque off and which the base needs connected in order to power on.
If 25Nm is enough for you, the Simucube 3 Pro gives you all of that at the lower torque figure. The Ultimate is for drivers who want the headroom and the faster motor.
What you need alongside it
A Simucube Link Hub, which is required to operate and is not in the box. One hub runs every Simucube Link device on the rig, and a second device such as an ActivePedal needs an Ethernet switch as well. The Link Hub is listed separately.
The Link Quick Release wheelbase side is pre-fitted. Simucube 3 compatible wheels arrive with the wheel side already on them. Our quick releases pages cover the options if you are bringing an older wheel across.

What warranty does it carry?
Five years, which is the longest in the Simucube wheelbase range. The Simucube 3 Pro carries three years and the Simucube 2 Pro two.
Is a Link Hub included?
No. One Simucube Link Hub is required to operate, and it comes in a separate box.
How is the motor different from the Simucube 3 Pro?
The Pro uses an SPM motor with the magnets on the rotor surface. The Ultimate uses a spoke-type IPM motor with the magnets inside the rotor, which is what allows 35Nm with faster response.
Is a quick release included?
The Link Quick Release wheelbase side is pre-installed. The wheel side comes with Simucube 3 compatible wheels, or is bought separately for an older wheel.
