A 10mm laser cut carbon steel deck with full slide and angle adjustment, spanning a 580mm mount width. It is the general purpose wheel surface for aluminium profile cockpits, taking almost any wheelbase that bolts down from above.
It suits the TR200, TRA, TR160, TR120, TR80S, TR40S and TRK frames in the Trak Racer range, and extrusion rigs from other manufacturers built on the same principle. It is not for the TRX tube frame cockpits.
Reach and rake are the two adjustments that matter most once the seat is set, and this deck gives you both. Slide brings the wheel toward you or pushes it away. Angle tilts the mounting face so the rim presents toward the driver rather than straight up.
Being able to change one without disturbing the other is the practical benefit. On a rig shared between drivers, that turns a rebuild into a two minute adjustment.
Most wheelbases bolt straight down onto the deck. The exceptions are the high torque group: Simucube, VNM, VRS, Immsource, Leo Bodnar, Sim-Lab and SimXperience bases generally want a compatible motor mount between the base and the deck.
The universal direct drive motor mount covers that group in one part and adds twelve degrees of tilt on top of the deck's own adjustment.
Ten millimetres of laser cut carbon steel is a lot of material for a wheel deck, and the reason is torque. A deck that flexes turns crisp force feedback into something vague, and the flex is worst exactly when the information matters most, under load in a corner.
It also means the deck is heavy, which is fine on a permanent rig and worth knowing if you move your cockpit often. The rest of our hardware mounts range covers the fixings and brackets that go with it. If your cockpit is a tube framed TRX rather than an extrusion rig, the TRX wheel mount plate is the equivalent part.
"A thick deck is one of those things you cannot feel directly but notice the absence of. If you have ever mounted a strong base on a thin plate and wondered why the feedback felt smeared, this is the fix. On an extrusion rig it is the most flexible wheel surface Trak Racer makes."
