Trak Racer Universal Headphone & Steering Wheel Hook Holder
A headset on the floor gets stood on. A rim left on the seat gets knocked off. Neither is a disaster, and both are the sort of small daily annoyance that quietly wears at a setup you otherwise love.
This hook bolts to the aluminium profile you already have and takes both. The curve turns downward at the tip so nothing slides off, and it goes wherever there is spare rail.
It is the least expensive thing in the racing simulator accessories and among the most used, which is usually how it goes with storage, and it sits with the rest of the Trak Racer range.
Key features
- Bolts to aluminium profile sim rigs
- Holds a gaming headset or a steering wheel rim
- Downward-curved tip stops gear slipping off
- Mounts under a side rail or horizontal bar
- Single bolt and nut fitting
- Position chosen at install
- Fits the full Trak Racer extrusion range
- Installation instructions included
Somewhere to put it
The best mounting spot is under a side rail or a horizontal bar, where the hook sits below the profile and out of the way of your elbows. Gear hangs down rather than sticking out, which matters in a cockpit where space is already tight.
It takes most gaming and racing headsets, and many steering wheel rims when they are off the base. On a quick release setup that is the difference between a rim living on the hook and a rim living on the floor.
Fitting is one bolt and one nut into the slot. No drilling, and it moves later if you decide somewhere else is better.
What it fits
It fits aluminium profile rigs only. Trak Racer list it against their extrusion frames including the TR200, TRA, TR160, TR120, TR80S, TR40S and TRK, and it will fit other branded aluminium profile rigs built to the same standard.
It is designed for simulator rigs and desk setups only, and is not intended for use in a road vehicle.

Our expert take
"The cheapest thing in the catalogue and the one people mention most. Nobody plans their rig around where the headset goes, and then it turns out that is the thing they touch twice a session, every session."
"Mount it under a rail rather than on top of one. Above the profile it is in the way of your arm; underneath it disappears until you reach for it."

Frequently asked questions
Will it hold a steering wheel?
Yes, it takes many steering wheel rims as well as headsets. On a quick release setup it gives the rim somewhere to live between sessions.
Which rigs does it fit?
Aluminium profile rigs only. Trak Racer list it against their extrusion frames including the TR200, TRA, TR160, TR120, TR80S, TR40S and TRK, and it suits other branded aluminium profile rigs built to the same standard.
Does it need drilling?
No. It fits into the profile slot with the supplied bolt and nut, and can be repositioned later.
Where should I mount it?
Under a side rail or horizontal bar. That keeps the hook and whatever is hanging on it clear of your arms while still being easy to reach.

Such a small accessory but it makes a big difference to keeping my rig organised. My headset now has a proper place instead of sitting on the floor or seat.
The hook mounted easily to the aluminium profile with the supplied hardware. It feels secure and is in a convenient spot next to my seat.
I bought this mainly for my headset and it works perfectly. The curved end keeps everything from sliding off and the hook stays nicely out of the way.
simple and does what it should. I should have bought this with the rig (TR160).
I use it to hang my spare steering wheel when I'm using another rim. It keeps the wheel off the floor and makes changing wheels much easier.
