Trak Racer TR Series GT Pro Fibreglass Racing Seat, Gloss Black
A GT bucket sits you differently to a rally one. The bolsters are shallower and the opening is wider, which makes it easier to get in and out of and more comfortable across a long stint without giving up the rigidity of a fixed shell.
This is the TR Series version in high-gloss black, on an ultra-rigid fibreglass shell rated to 200kg, with pre-installed high-density formed padding.
It fits drivers from small to extra large, up to roughly a 46 inch waist, which is the widest fit range in the racing seats.
Key features
- Ultra-rigid fibreglass shell
- Rated to 200kg (440lb)
- GT profile with a wider seat opening
- Pre-installed high-density formed padding
- High-gloss black finish
- Suits drivers up to approximately a 46 inch waist
- Side-mount compatible
- Wear-resistant, UV-resistant and easy-clean coating
GT profile, wider fit
The GT shape is the more forgiving of the two bucket profiles. Shallower bolsters and a wider opening mean less climbing over the sides and less pressure on the hips, which is what makes it the better choice for most people who are not specifically chasing a rally feel.
Trak Racer rate the fit from small through extra large, up to approximately a 46 inch waist, which is wider than the 44 inch ceiling on most sim seats and the reason this one suits a broader range of drivers.
The 200kg load rating is the other number worth knowing, and it is unusual for the category to publish one at all.
Fibreglass under gloss
The shell is ultra-rigid fibreglass, which is what keeps the seat from flexing under a strong wheelbase. Nothing moves under load, so the forces you feel through the wheel are the car rather than the furniture.
The high-gloss black finish is the visual difference. It reads closer to a real motorsport shell than a matte finish does, and it is coated to be wear-resistant, UV-resistant and easy to clean.
Padding is pre-installed high-density formed foam, double stitched in high-strength nylon with reinforcement at the high-contact points.
Mounting and alternatives
It is a side-mount seat, fixing at the sides rather than underneath. Sliders are sold separately and are in the seat mounts and sliders. Check your frame takes side mounting before ordering, because side and bottom mount are not interchangeable.
Compatible frames include the tube frames, the RS6, TR8 PRO, TRX, Porsche 91XTR and Carbon Fibre TRX, and the extrusion frames, the TR200, TRA, TR160, TR120, TR80S, TR40S and TRK, plus other branded rigs. Supported motion systems include D-BOX, Sigma Integrale and Qubic Systems.
If you want deeper bolsters, the RS GT Rally-Pro Fibreglass Racing Seat is the rally profile. If you want recline, the RE2 seats are the bottom-mount alternative.
Our expert take
"For most people this is the seat to buy rather than the rally shell. Deep bolsters look purposeful and they are genuinely better on a stage, but they also mean climbing in over a high side every session, and that gets old faster than you would think."
"The 46 inch waist figure is worth paying attention to. Sim racing seats are quietly narrow and a lot of drivers buy one, find it tight across the hips, and assume that is just how bucket seats feel. It is not."

Frequently asked questions
What size driver does it suit?
Trak Racer rate it from small through extra large, up to approximately a 46 inch waist, with a 200kg weight capacity.
Does it recline?
No. It is a fixed-back bucket seat. Fore and aft adjustment comes from sliders, which are sold separately.
How does it mount?
Side mount, at the sides of the shell rather than underneath. Confirm your frame takes side-mount brackets before ordering.
How is it different to the rally seat?
The RS GT Rally-Pro seat has deeper bolsters and a rally profile. This one has a wider opening and a wider fit range, which suits longer sessions and easier entry.
