The full configuration. Four D-BOX G5 motion actuators, one at each corner, the Haptic Bridge controller that drives all four, four Trak Racer steel brackets and the universal platform base your cockpit bolts onto.
Four corners is the layout with the most authority and the highest payload rating in the range. Two actuators sit at the front and two at the rear, so every corner is driven and nothing is riding on a pivot.
With three actuators, one end of the rig is carried on a single centre unit. With four, every corner is driven independently, and the platform can put a different force into each one. Roll and pitch stop borrowing from each other, and the movement reads as more separate.
It also lifts the payload. Four actuators are rated to 460kg against 345kg for three, which matters on a heavy tube chassis carrying a triple screen stand and a large driver. The three actuator version covers the same ground for a lighter setup.
The G5 generation replaced the multiple controller boxes of the previous G3 system with a single discreet Haptic Bridge unit that runs a complete two, three or four actuator setup. One box, one power feed, one connection to the PC.
The unit arrives with current software and works with D-BOX HaptiSync Center on the PC, where you select supported titles and tune intensity per effect. D-BOX makes the software available as a free download.
The premium universal Trak Racer platform base is part of this package and takes all brands of cockpit. It is the piece that makes the system portable across a chassis change, because your cockpit sits on the platform rather than the actuators bolting into the frame.
Our motion simulator packages pages compare the complete motion packages, and the motion simulators collection covers the platform bases on their own if you already own actuators. Our racing simulator cockpits pages cover the cockpits that sit on top, tube framed and profile built alike.
"Four actuators is the right answer if your rig is heavy or if you race a lot of things with real roll in them, like rally or GT3 over kerbs. On a light aluminium cockpit running open wheelers, three will get you most of the way there. It is a payload and a driving style question rather than a better and worse one."
