This is the M6 x 20mm hex screw in a set of six, used across the Trak Racer TR8020 product line including the sim rigs and the sim racing monitor stands built on the same extrusion system.
M6 and M8 look similar in a parts tray and are not interchangeable. If a screw threads in easily for two turns and then stops, stop with it. Forcing an oversized fastener into a tapped hole strips the softer aluminium thread, and the repair is considerably more expensive than the screw.
