Description

Thrustmaster HOTAS Magnetic Base

The Thrustmaster HOTAS Magnetic Base is the magnetic base from the HOTAS Warthog flight stick, sold on its own for the first time. This special 10th anniversary edition carries a commemorative logo.

It is a base only, designed to take detachable Thrustmaster flight stick grips on PC, and uses H.E.A.R.T magnetic sensors for 16-bit precision with no gimbal.

It is part of the Thrustmaster range.

HOTAS Magnetic Base on a desk in warm light

Key features

  • Standalone HOTAS Warthog magnetic base
  • 10th anniversary edition logo
  • H.E.A.R.T magnetic sensors
  • 16-bit, 65,536 x 65,536 values
  • No gimbal, contact-free sensing
  • Heavy base, more than 2kg
  • Detachable metal plate
  • Desk or cockpit-style mounting
  • Takes detachable Thrustmaster grips
  • T.A.R.G.E.T programming software on PC

Precise and built to last

H.E.A.R.T (HallEffect AccuRate Technology) gives 16-bit precision on both axes, which is 65,536 x 65,536 values. Because the sensing is magnetic and there is no gimbal, there is nothing to wear, so accuracy holds up over the long term.

Heavy and stable

At 2.4kg the base stays put on the desk during hard manoeuvres. The metal plate is detachable, so the base can also be mounted cockpit style.

HOTAS Magnetic Base from above

Part of the Thrustmaster ecosystem

The base is designed to mix and match with Thrustmaster's wider flight range, including the HOTAS Warthog stick and throttle, TPR rudder pedals and MFD cockpit panels (sold separately).

The free T.A.R.G.E.T software on PC lets you test, configure and program it alongside other Thrustmaster controllers. See our joysticks for more.

Our expert take

"This is a straightforward way to get the much-loved Warthog base under a spare or replacement grip, or to build a second stick for a dual setup. The magnetic sensing and weight are exactly what made the Warthog base a benchmark."

"It is a fixed-feel base, so if you want to tune spring force and travel, the modular AVA base is the alternative. No grip is included and it is PC only."

- Blake Sterling, Founder & CEO, Gamer Gear Direct
