MOZA R3 Xbox Racing Bundle

The MOZA R3 is the entry point to direct drive force feedback on Xbox, and it arrives as a complete bundle rather than a base to build around. It is officially licensed for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, and it runs on PC as well, which makes it the obvious first step for a console racer coming off a gear driven wheel.

A direct drive servo motor produces 3.9Nm of peak torque, read by a 15-bit encoder and reported over USB at 1000Hz. The motor connects straight to the steering shaft, so kerb strikes, weight transfer and tyre slip arrive without the slack a belt or gear set introduces. The housing is aviation grade aluminium alloy.

The bundle pairs that base with the MOZA ES wheel for Xbox and the SR-P Lite pedal set, with a table clamp supplied so it runs on a desk from the first session. The rest of the range is in MOZA Racing.

Xbox and PC version, or the PC version

This listing is the Xbox and PC version, and it is the one to take if an Xbox is involved at all. MOZA builds the R3 in two platform versions and the choice is made at purchase rather than in software. If you race only on PC, the MOZA R3 Bundle for PC is the version to buy.

Both versions share the same wheelbase, the same 3.9Nm output and the same SR-P Lite pedals. What differs is the Xbox licensing and the wheel supplied with it: this version ships with the ES wheel for Xbox, the PC version ships with the ES Lite. Nothing else about the driving changes between them.

Direct drive force feedback on a console

Direct drive means the rim mounts to the motor shaft with nothing in between. On a gear driven wheel the teeth that transmit the force also blur it, and you feel the mechanism as much as the car. Removing that stage is the single biggest change in feel when people step up.

At 3.9Nm the R3 sits at the lower end of direct drive output, which is deliberate. It is enough to resolve the front axle clearly while staying manageable clamped to a desk, where a higher torque base starts dragging the whole setup around. Stronger bases are in direct drive wheelbases.

The ES Xbox wheel

The ES wheel supplied with the Xbox version is a 280mm round rim with ISF PU grips and an aluminium face plate, so it holds its shape under load rather than flexing against the hub. The shift paddles are magnetic aluminium, giving a short travel and a defined click instead of a mushy throw.

There are 22 programmable buttons on the face and 10 high brightness RGB rev LEDs across the top, both mapped and tuned in MOZA Pit House. The rim sits on the MOZA Quick Release, so it comes off without tools and other rims in the range go on in its place.

SR-P Lite pedals

The SR-P Lite set is a two pedal throttle and brake in high strength steel, using a hall sensor on the throttle for contactless position reading. Pedal spacing and plate height both adjust, and an anti-slip pad is supplied for hard floors.

Output curves are adjustable per pedal in Pit House, which matters more than it sounds. A linear brake curve and a progressive one feel like different pedals entirely, and shaping it is how you find a braking point you can hit twice.

MOZA Pit House is the control layer for the whole system. Force feedback strength, damping and friction, pedal curves, button mapping, rev light behaviour and firmware all sit in one place, on desktop and on mobile.

Does the MOZA R3 work on Xbox?

Yes. This version of the MOZA R3 is officially licensed for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, and it also runs on a Windows PC. The platform is set by the version you buy rather than by a setting, so check you are ordering the Xbox and PC version and not the PC version.

How do I connect the MOZA R3 to an Xbox?

The wheelbase connects to the console by USB, and the pedals plug into the pedal port on the back of the base. Power runs to the base through its own DC input. No driver install is involved on console.

Is there a MOZA R3 bundle for Xbox and PC?

For a first direct drive wheel, yes. 3.9Nm resolves kerbs and front axle load clearly while staying controllable on a desk mount. Drivers on a rigid cockpit chasing finer detail tend to step up to a higher torque base in the same MOZA range.

Does the MOZA R3 bundle include a clutch pedal?

No. The SR-P Lite set supplied in this bundle is a two pedal throttle and brake. There is no clutch pedal in the box, and adding one means moving up to a three pedal set rather than extending this one.

Do the SR-P Lite pedals use a load cell?

No. The SR-P Lite set reads pedal position with a hall sensor on the throttle, with adjustable output curves in MOZA Pit House. A load cell brake reads pressure instead, which is a separate upgrade within the same range.

Can I change the wheel rim on the MOZA R3 later?

Yes, and there are two routes. The ES wheel sits on the MOZA Quick Release, so it lifts off without tools and other MOZA rims fit the same hub. You can also change the shape of the ES wheel itself: the MOZA ES 12 Inch Round Wheel Mod takes it to a larger round rim, and the MOZA ES/ESX Formula Wheel Mod converts it to an open wheel shape. Either way the wheelbase stays.

Does a MOZA shifter work with the R3 on Xbox?

Yes. The MOZA SGP sequential shifter and the HGP H-pattern shifter both work on Xbox when they are plugged into the shifter port on the back of the R3 wheelbase. The connection runs through the wheelbase rather than to the console directly, which is what makes it work on Xbox.
