MOZA AB9 Direct Drive Force Feedback Base
The MOZA AB9 is a high-torque direct drive force feedback base engineered for serious flight simulation, space simulation and precision control applications.
Delivering up to 12Nm of peak torque through dual servo motors, the MOZA AB9 recreates taxiing resistance, aerodynamic loading, turbulence, stall buffeting and runway vibration with exceptional clarity and strength.
Unlike belt-driven systems that introduce latency and elasticity, the MOZA AB9 direct drive architecture transfers force instantly from motor to stick, resulting in sharper detail, stronger resistance curves and far greater mechanical consistency.
Powered by MOZA’s proprietary MCLS (MOZA Control Loading System) technology and a high-resolution encoder, the AB9 FFB base delivers controlled, progressive and highly realistic feedback across the full ±20° travel range.

12Nm peak torque with dual servo motor precision
The MOZA AB9 FFB base uses dual high performance servo motors to generate up to 12Nm of peak torque and 9Nm of continuous torque. This level of output places the AB9 among the most powerful consumer force feedback flight bases available.
Higher torque allows the base to replicate realistic control loading during aggressive manoeuvres, crosswind landings and high speed banking. Rather than feeling vague or springy, the stick resists your inputs with convincing aerodynamic weight.
For helicopter, GA and jet simulation, this torque range provides meaningful feedback that enhances muscle memory and improves precision.
Proprietary MCLS force feedback technology
MOZA’s Control Loading System calculates and reproduces aerodynamic forces with far greater fidelity than conventional vibration based systems.
Instead of simple rumble effects, the AB9 dynamically adjusts resistance based on in-game telemetry, recreating:
- Control surface loading
- Runway friction
- Engine vibration
- Stall and buffet behaviour
- Turbulence effects
- Ground roll resistance
This makes the MOZA AB9 more than just a vibration unit. It becomes an active control loading system that mirrors real aircraft response characteristics.
High resolution encoder and 1000Hz USB refresh rate
Precision is not just about torque. The AB9 features a high resolution encoder and a 1000Hz USB refresh rate, ensuring extremely fast signal updates and accurate positional tracking.
This reduces input latency and improves fine control during flare, hover adjustments and formation flying. The result is smoother, more predictable handling across the entire travel range.
Fanless, sealed and aviation grade construction
The MOZA AB9 is housed in aviation grade aluminium alloy, providing structural rigidity and improved thermal stability under load.
The fanless design eliminates mechanical noise while reducing dust intake. This sealed construction enhances longevity and ensures quiet performance, even during extended sessions.
The base is built to withstand demanding simulation environments while maintaining smooth motor output and stable force delivery.
Open ecosystem compatibility
The MOZA AB9 embraces an open ecosystem philosophy. It supports compatible third party flight sticks and controls, allowing you to integrate the base into an existing setup rather than replacing your entire system.
It is fully compatible with major simulation titles including Microsoft Flight Simulator, X-Plane, DCS World, IL-2, War Thunder and Star Citizen.
For complete flight simulation builds, you can pair the AB9 with the MOZA MA3X side stick and compatible throttle and rudder systems to create a fully integrated control platform.

Great quality product
Its a new world. Combined with DCS and a good vr headset, its as close as you can get without a motion rig and even then, it brings a lot a immersion.
Admin side - took a very long time to receive it from shipping. I will give credit that their customer service did answer me when I inquired.
The base is super cool; but still seems like it has a lot more untapped potential. The build quality and look are top notch.
The base is heavy and rigid, and it gives quiet an immersive feeling pending on the game/simulator used. I play it with DCS, and it has this option to additionally extract data from DCS to emulate vibrations and such. Here I found that some of these effects are quiet exaggerated and I had to fine tune them. I know that DCS is also not the easiest simulator to deal with, but I'd recommend to then not offer this effects than have the stick wack you out of nowhere while you fly in otherwise calm air with the autopilot on.
Since I can fix it myself, I can recommend this for everyone who can afford it. However, for 5 stars, that could have been ironed out more first, but I wouldn't be suprised if others are struggling with this too!
I enjoy the base a lot and I am happy to have bought it. Unfortunately, not allof the desired effects at this moment. This, despite many hours of troubleshooting by myself and Moza support. The support staff has been very good and responsive to my requests to date. Missing effects include elevator droop, helicopter effects, gunfire etc.
