The reason to take both is simple. One gives you a seven speed plus reverse H-pattern gate. The other switches between a sequential shifter and a handbrake without tools. Put them side by side and you can run an H-pattern gearbox and a handbrake at the same time.
Both are part of the Logitech sim racing range and both clamp to a desk, so this works without a cockpit.
