Pedals that bolt individually to profile are endlessly adjustable and slightly annoying. Every time you want to change your seating position you are undoing six bolts instead of two, and your heels are resting on whatever happens to be underneath them.
This base plate fixes both. Two lengths of aluminium profile carry the pedals as one assembly, and a steel heel rest gives your feet an anchor point. Our pedal accessories cover the rest of the supporting hardware.
Without one, your heel either floats or rests on the floor of the rig at whatever height that happens to be. Neither gives you a fixed reference, and a brake pedal you are pushing from an unstable foot position is a brake pedal you cannot repeat.
With an anchor point, the ankle becomes the joint doing the work rather than the whole leg. That is how it works in a car, and it is why trail braking gets more consistent almost immediately after fitting one.
The heel rest sets to the height and recline that suit your seating position, so a reclined formula position and an upright GT position are both catered for. It is a setup adjustment rather than something you change between sessions.
The two profiles let you place the pedals anywhere along their length. Narrow them for a formula footwell or spread them for a road car feel, and set the brake wherever your right foot naturally falls rather than where a fixed plate decided.
Mounting holes on both sides take the pedal controller box, which keeps it off the floor of the rig and keeps the GX12 runs short and tidy. Left or right is your choice depending on where the USB run is easiest.
It is designed around the VNM Load Cell Pedal Set, and the whole assembly then bolts into a rig as one piece. Our VNM Simulation range covers the full set of components.
