Bring the wheel closer
A CNC machined billet 6061-T6 aluminium spacer that sits between your wheelbase and your wheel, moving the rim toward the driver. Available in 50mm, 100mm and 150mm.
Wheel distance is one of the three measurements that decide whether a rig fits you, alongside seat position and pedal reach. If your wheelbase is mounted where the rig wants it rather than where your arms want it, a spacer is how you close the gap.
Key features
- Available in 50mm, 100mm and 150mm
- CNC machined billet 6061-T6 aluminium
- Anodised matte black finish
- Supports 6 x 70mm and 6 x 50.8mm patterns
- Suits formula seating positions
- Fits Simucube, Simagic, MOZA, VNM and Asetek bases
Who actually needs one
Formula seating positions most of all. Lying back with your legs raised puts your shoulders further from the wheelbase than a GT position does, and on many rigs the wheel ends up a reach away rather than in your lap where it belongs.
The other case is a tall driver on a rig sized for average. Rather than moving the entire wheelbase and rebuilding the mount, a spacer moves just the rim.
Check the bolt pattern on both sides
The spacer supports two common patterns, 6 x 70mm and 6 x 50.8mm. Before ordering, confirm what your wheelbase or quick release presents and what your wheel expects, because those two do not always match each other.
Our 330mm wheels are 6 x 70mm, which matches the spacer directly, and the 350mm Drift wheel takes 6 x 70mm or 3 x 50mm. If your wheel is on a 3 x 50mm pattern, check that against the spacer's 6 x 50.8mm before assuming they interchange.
Billet, not cast
Machined from solid 6061-T6 rather than cast, which matters because everything the wheelbase produces passes through this part on its way to your hands. A spacer that flexes or has any play in it turns crisp force feedback into something vague, and it sits at the worst possible point in the chain to introduce slop.
Anodised matte black to match the rest of the hardware. Our direct drive wheelbases range and the sim racing steering wheels that suit them are worth reading together if you are still building the front end of the rig.
Our expert take
"Wheel distance is the setup measurement people leave wrong for years because moving a wheelbase is a real job. A spacer is the cheap way to fix it. Just measure the bolt pattern on both the base side and the wheel side first, because those two are not always the same and it is the one thing that will catch you out."
