Thrustmaster Sol-R 2 HOSAS Space Sim Duo
The Thrustmaster Sol-R 2 HOSAS Space Sim Duo gives you two Sol-R flightsticks for Hands On Stick And Stick control on PC. HOSAS is a popular choice for space sims, letting you fly with one stick and handle strafing and thrust with the other.
Each flightstick has a removable grip and a base with its own central throttle, for a total of 88 assignable actions across the pair. Both use Thrustmaster's H.E.A.R.T magnetic sensors with 16-bit accuracy.
It is part of the Thrustmaster range.
Key features
- Two Sol-R flightsticks for HOSAS
- 88 assignable actions
- 21 action buttons per grip
- H.E.A.R.T magnetic sensors, 16-bit
- 6 axes plus 10 virtual axes
- 2 ministicks and 2 thumbwheels
- Central throttle on each base
- Left and right-hand configurations
- 8 stability supports
- 11 RGB zones per flightstick
Why HOSAS
With a stick in each hand, you get more axes and more thumb controls than any single joystick can offer. It is an intuitive way to fly in six degrees of freedom, which suits space combat and exploration.
Each grip has 21 buttons, including 2 triggers with one dual-position trigger, 2 hat switches, a ministick and a thumbwheel.
Precision on every axis
The pair gives you 6 axes of movement using Thrustmaster's H.E.A.R.T HallEffect AccuRate Technology at 16-bit accuracy, plus 10 virtual axes from the thumbwheels, ministicks and throttles.
Magnetic sensors read movement without contact, so precision stays consistent over long use.
Comfort for long sessions
Thumb rests and wrist rests set each grip up for the hand it sits in, and 8 stability supports keep both bases planted.
Each flightstick has 11 RGB zones controlled through T.A.R.G.E.T, with colours inspired by science-fiction films.
Part of a modular ecosystem
The Sol-R grips can be attached to Thrustmaster AVA bases, and the Sol-R bases accept Thrustmaster's Viper and Hornet grips, as well as future grips.
The free T.A.R.G.E.T software on PC lets you configure both sticks as one setup and use built-in presets for well-known games. Browse our flight simulator controls for more.
Our expert take
"If you mainly fly Star Citizen or Elite Dangerous, a HOSAS setup like this is the most natural way to do it. Two matched Sol-R sticks with ministicks, thumbwheels and base throttles give you more controls under your thumbs than most HOTAS setups."
"It is PC only, and two sticks take up more desk space than one, so plan your mounting. If you also fly jets or airliners, a stick and throttle may suit you better. See our HOTAS range to compare."
