Description

Thrustmaster Raceline LC Upgrade Kit

The Thrustmaster Raceline LC Upgrade Kit adds a load cell brake to your Raceline pedal set. Instead of reading how far the pedal moves, a load cell measures how hard you press, so you brake by pressure the way you would in a real car.

The kit includes the load cell brake pedal, a metal top plate for three pedals, metal heads for the clutch and accelerator, and an extra spring and elastomer buffer. Fitted together, it turns a Raceline pedal set into a Raceline Pedals III LC.

It is designed for the Thrustmaster RaceLine Pedals III and the Raceline Pedals LTE, and works on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. It is part of the Thrustmaster range.

Key features

  • Load cell brake pedal for Raceline pedal sets
  • 100kg load cell with 24-bit resolution
  • Four brake force configurations from 25 to 100kg
  • Preload dial in 5kg steps
  • Tool-free spring and elastomer changes
  • Metal top plate for three pedals
  • Metal clutch and accelerator pedal heads
  • Settings in My Thrustmaster Panel or on the T598 Race Dash
  • Works on PC, PS5, PS4 and Xbox
  • Fits Raceline Pedals III and Raceline Pedals LTE

Brake by pressure, not travel

A standard brake pedal reports its position, so braking is about how far your foot moves. A load cell reports force, which is how a real brake behaves under your foot. That makes it easier to repeat the same braking point lap after lap and build muscle memory.

The sensor in the Raceline LC brake is rated to 100kg and reads with 24-bit resolution across an 11 degree travel angle, so small changes in pressure come through to the game.

Set the brake to suit you

The brake has four configurations that set the maximum pressure force anywhere from 25 to 100kg. You switch between them using the three springs and the elastomer buffer included, and no tools are needed.

A preload dial then fine-tunes the force in steps of 5kg. A lighter setup suits a desk or table, while the firmer settings suit a pedal set bolted into a cockpit.

Tune it in software

Once fitted, the pedals can be adjusted in My Thrustmaster Panel on PC or directly on the Race Dash screen of the T598 wheel base. You can change each pedal's travel, add dead zones and shape the response curves with the Equalizer.

That puts the fine tuning in one place if you race on the Thrustmaster T598 Direct Drive Bundle.

Compatibility

The kit is compatible with the Raceline Pedals III and Raceline Pedals LTE pedal sets. On PlayStation and Xbox it works through Thrustmaster force feedback wheel bases, with the exception of the T500.

On PC (Windows 10 and 11) the pedal set connects by USB, so it works alongside any wheel base. Browse our sim racing pedals for complete pedal sets.

Raceline pedal set upgraded to a three-pedal load cell layout

Our expert take

"Moving to a load cell brake is one of the most worthwhile upgrades you can make to a pedal set, and this kit lets Raceline owners do it without replacing pedals they already own. The range of spring settings means it can start soft on a desk and firm up as your setup does."

"It is an upgrade kit, so you need a Raceline Pedals III or Raceline Pedals LTE set to fit it to, and T500 owners are left out on console. To get the most from the higher force settings, mount the pedals in a racing simulator cockpit rather than leaving them loose on the floor."
