Description

PXN A9 Sim Racing Wheel Stand

The PXN A9 is a compact, foldable wheel stand built around a simple A-frame. It carries your wheel, pedals and shifter on three steel plates, sets up in front of the chair or couch you already own, and folds away between sessions so your racing gear does not take over the room.

The frame is Q235 carbon structural steel with a wide four-point footprint for stability. Red locking collars on each upright let the wheel deck telescope by about 36cm, and the pedal plate tilts through 0 to 45 degrees, so drivers of different heights can share the same stand.

PXN rates the A9 to fold in about five seconds, and it fits most popular wheels from Logitech, Thrustmaster and Fanatec as well as PXN's own range. It is an easy first step up from clamping a PXN or other wheel to a desk.

Key features

  • Q235 carbon structural steel A-frame
  • Telescopic wheel deck height adjustment of about 36cm
  • Pedal plate angle adjustment from 0 to 45 degrees
  • Shifter plate mounts on the left or right
  • Folds in about five seconds for storage
  • Wide four-point footprint for stability
  • Pre-drilled wheel plate for Logitech, Thrustmaster, Fanatec and PXN
  • About 86cm tall and 56cm wide when set up
  • Wheel, shifter and pedal plates included
  • 12-month PXN warranty

Three plates on one steel A-frame

The A9 carries everything on three plates: a racing wheel plate at the top, a shifter plate on the side and a large pedal plate at floor level. Because all three bolt to the same frame, the wheel and pedals stay the same distance apart every time you race instead of drifting like a desk-and-floor setup.

The A-frame is Q235 carbon structural steel, and its four feet are spread wide to resist rocking under force feedback and braking. The result is a stable base for gear-driven, belt-driven and entry-level force feedback wheels.

Set the height and pedal angle to suit you

Each upright has a red locking collar. Loosen it and the wheel deck slides up or down through about 36cm of travel, which covers a low couch as easily as a taller desk chair. Tighten it again and the height is locked in.

At floor level, the pedal plate adjusts from flat through to 45 degrees, so you can match a relaxed GT position or a more upright road-car feel. The side plate swaps between left and right to suit your preferred shifter hand, ready for a unit from our sim racing shifters range.

Folds away when you are done

The A9 is designed to fold quickly, which PXN rates at about five seconds. Folded, it stands upright against a wall or beside the couch, and the wheel can stay mounted so you are not re-clamping it before every session.

That makes it a good fit for apartments, bedrooms and living rooms where a permanent cockpit is not practical. Always make sure every joint is locked before you start driving.

Compatible with popular wheels and pedals

The wheel plate is pre-drilled for the mounting patterns of popular wheels, including Logitech G25, G27, G29 and G920, Thrustmaster T300RS, T300 GT, T500RS, TGT and TS-PC, Fanatec wheels, and PXN V9, V900 and V3.

The stand is sold on its own, so the wheel, pedals, shifter and seat are not included. Browse our sim racing wheels and sim racing pedals to complete your setup.

Our expert take

"The A9 is about as simple as a wheel stand gets: an A-frame, three plates, a height adjustment and a pedal tilt. For a driver on a Logitech, Thrustmaster or entry-level PXN wheel who wants to stop clamping to a desk and still reclaim the room afterwards, that simplicity is the appeal."

"The trade-off is that it is a lighter-duty stand. It suits gear and belt-driven wheels best, and anyone running a direct drive base is better served by a rigid racing simulator cockpit."

- Blake Sterling, Founder & CEO, Gamer Gear Direct

Frequently asked questions

Which racing wheels fit the PXN A9?

The A9 is pre-drilled for Logitech G25, G27, G29 and G920, Thrustmaster T300RS, T300 GT, T500RS, TGT and TS-PC, Fanatec wheels, and PXN V9, V900 and V3, along with most other popular wheels.

How much height adjustment does the A9 have?

The wheel deck telescopes by about 36cm using the locking collars on each upright. Set up, the stand is about 86cm tall and 56cm wide.

Can I use a direct drive wheel on the A9?

The A9 is best suited to gear and belt-driven wheels. For direct drive bases, a rigid racing simulator cockpit gives a stiffer platform.

Does it come with a seat?

No. The A9 is a wheel stand, so you use your own chair or couch. The height and pedal angle adjust to suit most seating positions.

Can the shifter go on either side?

Yes. The shifter plate can be mounted on the left or right side of the frame.

What warranty does the PXN A9 have?

It is covered by a 12-month manufacturer warranty, supported locally by the Gamer Gear Direct team.
