MOZA R16 Ultra Direct Drive Bundle
The MOZA R16 Ultra Direct Drive Bundle pairs the R16 Ultra wheelbase with the MOZA CS V2P as the included starter wheel, delivering MOZA Racing's flat-wire Ultra motor architecture at the 16Nm tier in a bundle designed for drivers stepping up to a premium direct drive setup. The R16 Ultra brings the same zero-cogging flat-wire motor technology found in the flagship R21 Ultra and R25 Ultra down to 16Nm constant torque, delivering a meaningfully more detailed and nuanced force feedback experience than the R12 V2 tier below it. The CS V2P is the standard included wheel, and any MOZA steering wheel in the current range can be selected instead from the options above before adding to cart.
The R16 Ultra's flat-wire motor delivers 16Nm of sustained torque throughout the full session without thermal reduction, paired with a 21-bit magnetic encoder at 2,097,152 PPR and a 600MHz processor running the NexGen Force Feedback Algorithm U1. Dual RGB light strips along the CNC-machined aluminium housing display real-time telemetry for ABS, traction control, gear changes, and flag signals, and native ecosystem integration ports allow MOZA pedals, shifters, handbrakes, and dashboards to connect directly without additional USB hubs. All configuration runs through MOZA Pit House from a single interface.

How the R16 Ultra Direct Drive Bundle compares
The R16 Ultra sits above the MOZA R12 V2 in the MOZA lineup but occupies a different position in the hardware generation rather than simply offering more of the same. Where the R12 V2 uses a conventional servo motor, the R16 Ultra uses a flat-wire motor that near-eliminates cogging. Cogging is the subtle magnetic resistance in conventional direct drive motors that creates a faint stepped feeling through the wheel at low shaft speeds. Removing it produces a steering feel that is smooth and uniform across the full rotation range, allowing the force feedback signal to communicate finer details without interference. The additional 4Nm of constant torque output over the R12 V2 carries more physical weight in high-load corners and at the limit of grip, where the R16 Ultra communicates what the car is doing with more nuance and resolution.
The step up from R12 V2 to R16 Ultra is as much about motor technology as torque output. Drivers on the R12 V2 who want more from the subtle signals will notice the improvement immediately: the gradual build of tyre load through a long corner, the early onset of understeer, the difference between different road surfaces. Compared to the MOZA R21 Ultra, the R16 Ultra shares the same flat-wire motor architecture and NexGen U1 algorithm but delivers 16Nm rather than 21Nm constant torque. For drivers who want the Ultra motor feel without requiring maximum torque output, the R16 Ultra is the natural entry point into the architecture.
MOZA R16 Ultra: zero-cogging flat-wire motor at 16Nm constant
The R16 Ultra's flat-wire motor delivers 12% higher torque density than conventional servo motors of the same size, enabling the compact 206 × 140 × 135mm CNC-machined aluminium housing without compromising on the motor's ability to sustain 16Nm throughout a session. That sustained output is the R16 Ultra's practical advantage over wheelbases that quote peak torque. Where peak-rated bases reduce output as the motor heats under sustained load, the flat-wire motor's superior heat dissipation keeps the R16 Ultra at full output from the first lap to the last.
The 600MHz CPU processes force feedback algorithm calculations with lower latency than previous MOZA hardware, supporting the NexGen U1 algorithm's more detailed signal decomposition. iRacing 360Hz force feedback mode is supported, increasing the resolution of feedback delivery during rapid changes in tyre grip and load transfer. The dual RGB telemetry strips are configurable through Pit House as static lighting, dynamic effects, or real-time cockpit telemetry indicators. All base settings, including FFB strength and curve, damping, inertia, road feel equalizer, and per-title profiles, are managed from within Pit House alongside any other connected MOZA hardware.
MOZA CS V2P: 330mm GT wheel with forged carbon fibre paddles
The CS V2P is a 330mm round GT wheel built from aviation-grade aluminium alloy throughout (frame, face plate, and back plate), with a microfibre leather grip and a full-size diameter that matches the scale of real competition touring car and rally steering wheels. At 13 inches, it sits larger than most sim racing formula wheels and delivers the driving position and rim feel suited to circuit racing, rally, and touring car disciplines.
The magnetic shifter paddles use 3mm forged carbon fibre with non-contact photoelectric sensors for zero-wear, zero-latency shift detection that remains consistent regardless of how hard the paddles are struck. Six programmable mechanical buttons, two pressable joysticks that together simulate ten additional inputs, and two rotary encoders provide a full range of in-session adjustability for brake bias, TC, engine map, and differential settings without removing hands from the wheel. Ten RGB LED shift lights with seven adjustable colour options display RPM through Pit House, and the all-metal MOZA Quick Release allows wheel swaps in seconds without tools.
Choose your MOZA wheel
The CS V2P is included as the starter wheel in this bundle, providing a full-size 330mm GT wheel well matched to the R16 Ultra's torque output and suited to circuit racing, rally, and endurance disciplines. If a different wheel suits your preferred racing style or discipline, select any MOZA steering wheel from the options above before adding to cart. The full current MOZA wheel range is available as an alternative, excluding the ESX, which is paired with lower-tier bundles and sits below the CS V2P in the MOZA range.
Every MOZA wheel uses the Invisible Connect wireless quick release system, meaning swapping between rims on the R16 Ultra requires no cabling and takes seconds. If you later want to add a second rim for a different racing discipline, the R16 Ultra's quick release accommodates any current MOZA wheel interchangeably.
Our expert take
"The R16 Ultra Direct Drive Bundle is where to go when you're ready to step into a higher tier of direct drive. The difference over the R12 V2 is in the nuance and feedback quality. The flat-wire motor communicates more of what the car is doing, with a smoother, more detailed signal through the wheel that you notice immediately in high-load corners and at the limit of grip. If you're on a R12 V2 or similar and want a meaningful step up in feedback quality rather than just more torque, this is the right move."

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the CS V2P the starter wheel for this bundle rather than the ESX?
The CS V2P is positioned above the ESX in the MOZA wheel range and is better matched to the R16 Ultra's tier and torque output. The ESX is the standard entry wheel for lower-tier bundles. The CS V2P's full-size 330mm aluminium alloy frame and forged carbon fibre paddles are more appropriate for the R16 Ultra's capability level.
Can I choose a different wheel for this bundle?
Yes. Any current MOZA steering wheel can be selected from the options above instead of the included CS V2P, with the exception of the ESX. Select your preferred wheel before adding to cart.
What is the difference between the R16 Ultra and the R12 V2?
The R12 V2 delivers 12Nm using a conventional servo motor with NexGen 4.0 FFB. The R16 Ultra adds 4Nm of constant torque, introduces the zero-cogging flat-wire motor, the NexGen U1 algorithm, a 600MHz CPU, and dual RGB telemetry strips. The key improvement is in feedback quality and motor technology: the R16 Ultra communicates finer details and more nuance through the wheel, not simply more force.
What does zero-cogging mean and why does it matter?
Cogging is the subtle magnetic resistance in conventional direct drive motors that creates a faint stepped feeling at low shaft speeds. The R16 Ultra's flat-wire motor near-eliminates cogging, producing a steering feel that is smooth and consistent across the full rotation range. It also allows finer force feedback details to be reproduced more accurately since the interference is removed from the signal.
What is the difference between constant torque and peak torque?
Peak torque is the maximum output a wheelbase can deliver for short durations under ideal thermal conditions. As the motor heats during a session, output typically reduces to manage temperature. Constant torque is the output the base sustains continuously. The R16 Ultra's 16Nm constant rating means it holds full output throughout an extended session, which matters most for endurance stints and back-to-back practice runs.
How does the R16 Ultra compare to the R21 Ultra?
Both use the same zero-cogging flat-wire motor technology, 21-bit encoder, NexGen U1 algorithm, and dual RGB telemetry. The R21 Ultra delivers 21Nm of constant torque versus 16Nm on the R16 Ultra. The R16 Ultra is the more accessible entry point into the Ultra motor architecture. The MOZA R21 Ultra bundle is the step up for drivers who want maximum torque headroom.
Do I need to buy pedals separately?
Yes. This bundle includes the wheelbase and wheel only. For a complete direct drive setup, pair this bundle with MOZA SRP2 Pedals or MOZA CRP2 Load Cell Pedals, which connect directly to the R16 Ultra's pedal port without a separate USB connection.
Is the bundle PC only?
The R16 Ultra is PC compatible with all major sim titles. Xbox compatibility is not supported through the R16 Ultra directly. For Xbox compatibility, the MOZA ESX wheel is required, however the ESX is not available as a bundle option at this tier.
Does the included wheel work with the R16 Ultra?
Yes. The CS V2P is compatible with current-generation MOZA direct drive bases including the R16 Ultra. Wireless connection uses MOZA Invisible Connect technology and requires no additional cables.
