Description

Trak Racer TR-One Oversized Shifter Mount

The serious shifters do not fit standard mounts. A BDH servo unit, a Pro-Sim sequential or a Simworx Pro Series has a footprint and a weight that a normal bracket was never drawn around, and forcing the issue gives you a lever that moves when you pull it.

This is the oversized plate for exactly those. A larger mounting surface on the same TR-One two-slot system, with the same distance slider, sized for units that are bigger and heavier than the mainstream.

The trade is deliberate: a wider plate for a narrower compatibility list. Check yours against it before ordering rather than after. It sits with the rest of the hardware mounts we carry for aluminium chassis rigs.

Key features

  • Enlarged mounting surface for oversized shifters
  • Suits larger and heavier shifter units
  • Two-slot sliding adjustment for fore and aft position
  • Distance slider for fine ergonomic tuning
  • Fits 8mm slotted aluminium extrusion
  • Part of the TR-One modular mounting system
  • Attaches to the TR-One Gen 2 shifter mount
  • Pre-drilled, no additional drilling required

Built for the units that outgrow a normal bracket

Weight is the problem, not width. A heavy sequential shifter under a firm pull puts a real moment through whatever is holding it, and a plate sized for a Logitech unit simply flexes.

You feel that as vagueness. The lever moves, then the mount moves, and the shift that should be a clean mechanical event turns into a two-stage one. On a servo force feedback shifter it is worse again, because the unit is pushing back.

The larger surface here spreads that load across more of the profile, which is the whole reason to accept the extra bulk.

Same system, same adjustment

Nothing about the TR-One behaviour changes. Two slots carry it on the profile and let it slide fore and aft, and the distance slider tunes how far the lever sits from the wheel.

It also attaches to the Gen 2 shifter mount rather than replacing the system, so if you already run TR-One this is an addition rather than a restart.

Everything is pre-drilled, so no additional drilling is needed at any point.

Check the list, this one is narrower

This is the important part. Compatibility here is deliberately narrower than the standard TR-One Gen 2 mount. It covers the BDH Race Sim Hardware range including the H1, H1SQ, H2SQ, S1 and the servo force feedback Active Shifter, the DSD SQ Shifter, the Jinx Shifter, the Pro-Sim range, the Simworx Pro Series, and the Quaife PSL Sequential V2, Sequential and H Pattern units.

If your shifter is not among those, the standard TR-One Gen 2 Universal Shifter Mount is almost certainly the right part instead.

Rig compatibility is the extrusion range including the TR200, TRA, TR160, TR120, TR80S, TR40S and TRK, plus other branded extrusion rigs. On some frames Trak Racer recommend an extension support alongside it, so tell us your rig and we will confirm.

Our expert take

"Buy this one only if your shifter is on its list. The instinct is to assume bigger is safer, but the standard mount covers most of the market and this plate exists for a specific set of heavy units rather than as a general upgrade."

"If you do run one of those units, do not compromise. A servo shifter on an undersized bracket feels wrong in a way that is hard to diagnose, because the vagueness is in the mount rather than the shifter you just spent a lot of money on."
