Trak Racer Cockpit-Mounted Single Monitor Stand for TR8 Pro & TRX
A screen bolted to the cockpit behaves differently to a screen on its own legs. It sits closer, it holds its distance from your eyes no matter where the seat goes, and it moves with the rig when the rig moves. For a single-screen setup that is usually the better trade.
This one is engineered for the Trak Racer TR8 Pro and TRX specifically, carrying one monitor or television up to 70 inches on standard VESA patterns.
It sits with the rest of the sim racing monitor stands we stock, and the choice between this and a freestanding stand comes down to floor space and how much you value a fixed field of view.
Key features
- Carries one display up to 70 inches
- Engineered for the TR8 Pro and TRX cockpits
- Supports standard VESA mounting patterns
- Monitor distance adjustable for field of view
- Screen holds position relative to the seat
- Suits flat and curved displays
- Works with ultrawide and large-format panels
- Rigid cockpit mounting reduces flex
The screen goes where the seat goes
This is the real argument for cockpit mounting and it gets overlooked. On a freestanding stand, moving the seat changes your field of view, because the screen stayed where it was. On a cockpit-mounted stand the geometry is fixed: adjust the seat and the screen comes with it.
For anyone who shares a rig, or who moves the seat between racing and flying, that is the difference between setting your field of view once and setting it every time.
It also puts the panel closer than a freestanding frame comfortably can, which is what fills your peripheral vision on a single screen.
Seventy inches on the rig itself
Seventy inches is a large television, and carrying one off the cockpit rather than off the floor asks a lot of the frame. This stand is built for the TR8 Pro and TRX specifically rather than adapted to them, which is what makes that rating credible.
Rigid mounting also cuts flex. A screen that wobbles on its mount blurs at exactly the moment you need it sharp, and a stand designed around one cockpit does not have the tolerances that a universal bracket needs.
VESA support is standard patterns, so most monitors and televisions will bolt straight on, flat or curved.
Cockpit-mounted or freestanding
The honest trade is vibration and floor space. A cockpit-mounted screen shares whatever the wheelbase and the frame are doing, which on a strong direct drive setup can be felt. A freestanding stand isolates the panel completely but needs real depth behind the rig and gives up the fixed seat-to-screen geometry.
If you run a motion platform, freestanding is the answer and it is not close. For a static rig in a room where floor space matters, cockpit mounting wins.
Both types sit in the sim racing monitor stands, and if you are undecided tell us your room and your rig and we will make the call with you.
Our expert take
"On a single-screen setup, cockpit mounting is usually the right answer. The fixed distance from your eyes to the panel is what makes a single screen feel immersive rather than like a television you are sitting in front of, and a freestanding stand cannot guarantee it."
"The exception is a motion rig. The moment the platform moves, a screen attached to it moves too, and the image you are trying to read moves with it. That is when you want the screen on its own legs."

Frequently asked questions
Which cockpits does it fit?
It is engineered specifically for the Trak Racer TR8 Pro and TRX. It is not a universal stand.
How big a screen will it take?
One monitor or television up to 70 inches, on standard VESA patterns, flat or curved.
Will it suit a motion platform?
No. On a motion rig the screen should be isolated from the cockpit, so a freestanding stand from the sim racing monitor stands is the right choice.
Does the screen move with the seat?
The screen holds its position relative to the cockpit, so adjusting the seat keeps your field of view consistent rather than changing it.
