Description

Trak Racer V2 Pro 200W Amplifier and Bass Shaker Kit

Sound tells you the engine is working. Haptics tell you the car is. Kerb strikes, wheel lock, the moment the rear steps out: all of it arrives through the seat before your eyes have caught up, which is why drivers who fit tactile feedback rarely take it off again.

This kit is the complete starting point. A 200W two-channel Class-D amplifier paired with one 100W low-frequency transducer, cabling included, tuned by an adjustable low-pass filter between 50 and 200Hz.

The amplifier runs two channels, so a second shaker can be added later without replacing anything. It sits alongside the rest of the haptic systems we carry.

Key features

  • 200W two-channel Class-D amplifier
  • 100W low-frequency tactile transducer included
  • Adjustable low-pass filter from 50 to 200Hz
  • Frequency response 30 to 200Hz within 3dB
  • RCA and 3.5mm inputs
  • Second shaker can be added on channel two
  • Signal to noise ratio of 95dB at 100Hz
  • Speaker wire and input cables supplied

Feel the corner before you see it

A transducer is not a speaker. It does not make sound so much as move the thing it is bolted to, converting the low end of the game audio into physical movement in the seat or the frame.

In practice that means information rather than novelty. Wheel lock under braking, the rumble strip you clipped, the surface change at the apex, the engine note through the chassis. Drivers consistently report finding the limit sooner with tactile feedback than without, because the seat reports it faster than the screen does.

The 100W transducer here runs from 20 to 120Hz, which is the band where that information lives.

Tuned, not just switched on

The adjustable low-pass filter is the part that makes this usable rather than exhausting. Set between 50 and 200Hz, it decides how much of the audio spectrum reaches the shaker, which is the difference between a system that reports the road and one that vibrates constantly.

Start low and bring it up. A filter set too high passes engine and tyre noise into the seat and the whole rig hums; set correctly it stays quiet until something happens and then tells you exactly what.

The amplifier delivers 60W RMS per channel into 4 ohms and 30W into 8 ohms, with a 95dB signal to noise ratio at 100Hz, so it stays clean at the levels you will actually run.

One shaker now, two later

The amplifier is a stereo unit, which means the kit ships using half of what it can do. Adding a second transducer on the free channel gives you left and right separation, so a kerb on one side is felt on that side.

That is the natural upgrade path and it costs nothing to leave open. Trak Racer sell the same 100W transducer separately for exactly this purpose.

Mounting is up to you: seat frame, pedal deck or chassis rail, each of which gives a different character. Trak Racer make dedicated mounts for the job and they sit in the racing simulator accessories.

Our expert take

"Haptics are the single biggest immersion gain per dollar in sim racing, and it is not close. A direct drive wheelbase costs several times this and changes how the car feels in your hands. This changes whether you know the rear has gone before it has gone."

"Spend ten minutes on the low-pass filter before you decide what you think of it. Almost everyone sets it too high on the first go, feels a constant hum, and concludes tactile feedback is a gimmick. Set properly it is silent until it has something to say."
