A MASTERPIECE SOLD BY A BRAND WITH EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE
The TR80 Mk5 when put together is rock solid like a tank that it is a brilliant piece of engineering work by Trak Racer. Absolutely zero flex.
Though assembly was a challenge (did it mostly myself) however I treated the build process like a personal project at home, so it never felt like a chore to me. Overall assembly process took me about 10 hours over 5 days.
Now onto delivery and Customer Service. A week after I placed my order and paid, I was informed that delivery will be delayed but I was ok with that as this is to be expected considering a logistical circumstance we're all in currently. However, Bree, Danny and Dylan have been super attentive to my questions and they responded to every of my email within the same day (sometimes within a few hours) so I have nothing but good things to say to these wonderful persons, and TR's customer service in general.
I actually waited just about a month for items to arrive and nothing was missing, all components arrived as they should. Gosh the pedal plates are heavy.
Very happy with my purchase and highly recommend TrakRacer. Top job.
Want to keep this short and sweet the team here at Trak Racer have been amazing I got my rig when it was supposed to come to me even during these times of delayed shipping. There customers support teams are amazing on all there social media pages they get back to you with answers to try to keep everyone who purchases on of these amazing racing rigs satisfied they go above and beyond and that shows the team believes in it as much as the customer does look forward to growing with Trak Racer as I build out this TR80
EXCELLENT PRODUCT FROM EXCELLENT COMPANY
The materials, strength, and versatility of this rig is absolutely amazing. This is the adult version of an erector set, with time and imagination the possibilities are endless. I've used so many components in ways they weren't intended to make this rig fit me and my needs perfectly.
There is no flex in the wheel deck and the uprights have zero wobble in any direction. There is zero flex in the pedal plate, I stood and bounced on it before mounting pedals and there was no movement. With accessories the upgrade path can fit most of the needs/wants anyone can have. This was my first step in upgrading into a serious sim racing rig and I couldn't be happier with my choice.
I did have a slight issue with my order but the customer service is beyond fantastic. I sent an email stating my issue and I received a phone call in response, yes they called me I was shocked too, not just emailed me back and forth like most companies do. It's a long story but the quick story is I ordered right before the new updated product version was officially announced so when I received my order I thought it was wrong. It wasn't wrong I was just unaware of the new updated product version since all pictures I saw while ordering were of the previous product version. Costumer service went way way above and beyond to correct my issue which was really just down to bad timing (literally 24-48 hour bad timing of when I placed my order to the rollout of the new version).
Trak Racer makes an amazing product and is an even better company to order from and do business with. Highly recommend to any sim racer, best price out there and best customer service I've ever received.
As a bonus this is the first rig I've had in 15 years of sim racing that I finally got my wife to try since it is such nice quality, she loved it. So much so she is hooked and I will be getting her a rig of her own to sit next to mine, definitely will be a Trak Racer rig.
1ST AND ONLY RIG YOU WILL EVER NEED.
I purchased the TR80 a few days in to the new year after lots of web searches and watching many many hours of You tube videos.
The ordering process was quick and easy. While ordering I changed my mind a few times and was glad that the website kept my details and I got helpful reminders that I had an uncompleted order. I made up my mind on 4th Jan and placed my order. I chose the universal wheel plate and reclining seat to go with the rig. By 6th Jan it had been delivered and was sitting in my house waiting for me to build it. 6 packages all efficiently delivered by courier.
Day 1. Started to build using the instructions I was pointed towards on the card in the boxes. I must say that the instructions I was following were not great and the lack of labelling on the bags of fixings led to abit of head scratchings, however I got the main framework assembled with no problems.
Day2. All was going well upto putting the uprights in for the wheel deck. There were some missing M8x16 hex screws. I emailed customer services and then continued with the assembly. I got an email reply the next day apologising and confirming that the missing fixings were being sent out. They arrived two days later. They also pointed me towards a newer set of build instructions. Speedy service.
Day3. Continued with the build and got it finished except for adjustments, cable runs and trim which I did over the next couple of days.
Total build time and adjustment took me about 7-8 hrs.
I am really suited with this product. Its sturdy, has no flex and cable management is really easy due to the channels in the profile and the included zip and clips. The plastic clips can be used to hold the cables in the channels as well as running some on top and tieing them down with the zip ties. I have managed to mount an extra USB hub and power supply to it for my Telemetry screen. I have used vecro strips to hold my TV remote to the rig.
The beauty of this rig is that I can purchase any "add ons" from Trak Racer and just bolt them on. There's plenty of optional extras and add ons available from the website.
Would definitely recommend this product to anyone.
If you are prepared to put in the hours to build it, it is worth the effort. I was building it after work and in my spare time. If you have good run at it I think you could do it in half the time.
Whatever you do, don't think that this is too expensive a product if you "only" have a logitech or similar budget wheel, it's not. It's an investment as the driving experience is increased, it feels way better than any wheel stand or foldable set up and loads better than the desk and office chair I was using.
Spend once and do it right!.
Missing hex screws and instructions all forgotten now.
Glad I pulled the trigger on the TR 80.
TRAK RACER TR80 PROFILE RIG
For the price, this product is excellent. I upgraded from a rather old GT Omega rig (which was great for the money as an entry level rig), but it was a bit flexible for my CSL Elite wheel and load cell pedals (had been fine with a T300 wheel), so I decided I wanted an aluminium profile rig and went with the Trak Racer. The quality and finish is excellent. I wish the T Nuts were the ball bearing type, rather than spring loaded - as they can and do scratch the anodising in the slots when you move them around, but otherwise this rig is excellent. Easy to put together if you're comfortable with basic assembly (you have to break some tabs off several corner fixing pieces at various steps, which is a bit tricky if you don't have the tools), fit and finish is great. Comfortable high quality seat, very little flex (I'm now running a DD wheel and it copes fine), very good pedal plate with adjustment. Overall a really nice rig for the money.
I had stripped a screw also during assembly (my fault) and the customer service were great, sending a few replacements for free. Can't argue with the experience from start to finish really!
