I bought the BenQ TH671ST 1080p Short Throw Projector to use for an outside theater during the Covid-19 pandemic. I also have a home theater which I use a BenQ projector so I have already been impressed by the brand. I am glad I bought this projector! It looks spectacular outside - even with a fair amount of light from the moon and Chicago sky. I like it so much, I will be putting this one in the home theater at the end of the summer. Great projector!
I have this set up on a coffee table in front of the seating area, which gives it around 7 feet to the wall. It produces a very crisp 10 foot picture. Even with some lights on and the blinds open, the picture is reasonably visible (of course it's much better, like a movie theater, when the lights are off). Fan is not too loud although it does produce some heat. I don't use the remote, since the unit is within easy reach on the table. Built in speakers are OK in a pinch but a bit tinny. I set up a Chromecast with an HDMI audio/video splitter rather than use the 3.5mm audio out, but I'm sure that would work fine. Pretty well built but I would not consider it something you'd want to handle a lot, like a portable unit.Overall, I like it a lot! Way more fun than a TV.
I took a chance on this projector and was not disappointed. The picture quality is great; still good even with sunlight coming into the room. I can’t speak to how it looks with gaming though because i don’t have a gaming system. It was super easy to set up, minus the mounting of course. Also, I was surprised at how great the sound quality is. The remote is a bit clunky and seems to have a lot of buttons that I haven’t touched yet. Overall, definitely would recommend!
First i'll say that I buy all kinds of electronics for gaming and movies for 3 rooms in my house with online matches and always do tons of research. So this big purchase had me wiry when ordering because of some of the 1 and 2 star reviews. In the end I took the chance and couldn't be happier. I believe all products made will have some lemons and luckily I didn't get one. Probably less than 5% chance someone would.GAMING- This thing is awesome! Picture is crisp and very good looking. I experienced no lag from the projector. My 75in 4k Sony TV sometimes lags and this doesn't!MOVIES- Movies look very good too. I'm a movie fanatic and love to use my hdr10 on my TV with 4k UHD Dvds for perfect picture. This won't be super bright with extreme blacks and whites but it gets very close. Especially with bluray dvds.STREAMING- Netflix/amazon I stream these through my ps4 and they look great too.SOUND- Considering this is a projector I was actually impressed by the sound. More so for movies than games but both were good. Let's be honest though, why buy a 120in+ projector and screen and not connect a surround system to it? No projector is going to have a good surround on it because it can't. I hooked up a vizeo sound bar + subwoofer and two side speakers and it sounds great. Makes gaming much better.
I was completely surprised at the image size it was able to cast from five to six feet. I Have it on my coffee table shelf and it’s about the size of the whole wall! Use to have to put it 30 feet back to achieve the same result with a normal throw. Didn’t have to adjust my setup but still got the biggest screen. And 1080p native and it shows. PS4 looks great. Modern Warfare on it will make you cry. Immersive. Even during daylight and with the lights on it’s still pretty clear as far as being able to distinguish shadows and colors. Over all its very impressive. No way you’ll be disappointed. I’ve owned two others and this guy blows them away. Fans nothing. Puts out a normal amount of heat. Speakers are hella loud. Mute function available on the backlit remote. Carrying case. Lens cap. Good job BenQ take my money!
